Christian W It is a Dodge Monaco. That is sure I think. It's hard to tell, which kit it is. But on the other hand it doesn't matter at all. If the wheels came out of the box how they are, you'd tell, what kit it is.
It is a super idea, to build a civilian police car. Did you know, that I have the Gotham City police car in my shelf?
Before I forget: The color is pretty good to the undercover cop car :D
4. June, 22:03
Bozzer Hunter! I remember that show as a kid. Your model predicts the original, very well. And thanks for the blast from the past

Christian W And now there us this "man, I still want that kit" in my mind. Again.
Super cool. And the coupe. Even better because the convertible is more common and wanted. I like the coupe a little more than the convertible. It doesn't look that thin and long. I like the roof.

3. June, 03:54
Dominik Weitzer you're welcome! I had the racing version long after that one also, but sold it.
3. June, 17:36
Christian W Isn't it decades ago, when You built it?
4. June, 04:24
Dominik Weitzer Yes it is. It was about end 80S / beginning 90s. I bought it in Albstadt across the street from Bohnlander in Franks Modelshop if i remember right - you know the shop i mean?
sadly, most modelshops we visited in the 90s are gone...

Tom ... Oh wow, Dom! Love , love this. Hopefully, one day, I can do something as good as this!
2. June, 20:10
Christian W The huge amount of details is amazing. But I think, you have one with a lot of more details, stuuf and junk in it. I always loved your creativity and still do. Sadly it is time-consuming. I remember your dioramas, the many cars e.g. Super great to look at. You could spend hours when they all are lined up at our meetings or at shows.
Awesome! It would be pretty cool, to see a new build somedays. I'd like to wish it. Becuase I'll never reach that level. I like to look at such stuff which can tell a story. Where I can go on a survey.

I agree with Tom: love it!
3. June, 04:14
Alex K ... "and the stories they tell"... - very very nice!
3. June, 22:57
Neuling Sehr schönes Modell!
4. June, 15:18
Dominik Weitzer Thank you very much - much appreciated!

Tom, Christian, be creative, try it. If you have a concrete idea how the goal will look, you can reach it. It takes time - ofcourse - and different materials to collect (hey, we collect kits and all stuff a modeller "needs" sometimes :D ) , but if you have made the first step on implement your idea and the first piece is lying on the desk, you have the effort to work on.
In my head are always some "stupid" ideas - they come from nothing or if i see something while looking around in my cave :D . In this case, sometimes my fingers are tickle like crazy and i must lay all other projects by side and >have to do it know< . thats the point those models were born like this Handyman.
Some other ideas take days, weeks or years when the time is right to start. trust your feelings!

Thank you Alex, Danke Neuling ;)
4. June, 19:56
Geert Heijl Nice model, attractive creativity, al little other touch, a great other model.

@ scalemates:
I have created some future projects with the status [Idea].
On this projects, there are in the newsfeed (replies on your project). if i click on it, like this one SCM Newsfeed
or this SCM Newsfeed
it showes me an error. I can't even see what project it is btw if i click on the newsfeed-button.
Now is my question:
Is it possible to hide those kind of projects with the status [idea] ?

I still smile, when I see this one. The Teddy bear smiles too. I can't imagine why ;) One of the best details are the rims. This small white wall tire on the twotone colored rims looking perfekt to the Beetle. So sweet.

Christian W One kit I never got to buy and in fact: to build. One point I'm wondering about it: in Europe we had those turn signals near of the a-pillar and no side markers. The US-market the other way round: only side markers. Your model kit has both. Is that for the japanese market? I'm confused :D
3. June, 03:58
Dominik Weitzer Ha! Perhaps, i read the instruction wrong that it was an option wich country you are building...didn't makes me wonder. I agree, i had no fun to build it! It is simple, but i had a lot of trouble with the paint...

Christian W The 1970s where a pretty cool time. You could differentiate the makers. Would you paint the roof as a vinyl top? It looks like it is one. Matchind a beige interior or light grey maybe? Was there a sliding roof with the kit?
2. June, 05:10
Bob Hall It would look pretty good with a White vinyl top. Looks great as is though !
2. June, 05:14
Dominik Weitzer Thanks both ;)
Bob, i will paint the vinyl roof white - like the idea and it will give the right touch.
Christian, Vinylroof - yes. The interior will stay blue. Aaaaand,....there was no glas part for the sliding roof. also a god idea to attach one ;)
2. June, 19:19
Christian W No way! No glas? Strange. You have to research whether it should be tinted or not ;)
2. June, 21:54

Christian W When I look at your red sportscar I saw something in commen: they have red rims. The Corvette C7 and the Porsche 993 Turbo. Funny, isn't it? I never noticed it when I looked at the kits alone. But now, I see it.
I'm smiling About the headlights. Didn't you notice the mistake first, when you tried to put them on place of the rear Lights? Nevertheless: it Looks good. The car.
2. June, 04:42
Dominik Weitzer That "red cars with red rims" is truly interesting, i didn't notice it at all! At least, as i made the pictures past weeks...because they were all bilt in different years :8...and as the standing in the showcase, you see normaly the front of the models :D.
As i painted the headlights, i was defenitly blind...let them dry and after taht i noticed, i took the wrong parts...

Ray Seppala Nicely done Dominik, we don't see enough civil aircraft subjects here!
30. May, 10:07
Treehugger I would consider adding a gentle wash to make the detailing stand out more. One can always mix the panel wash colors, so one doesn't have to use a pure black, brown or dark grey color.
30. May, 10:56
Alex K As Ray says, it is so nice to see civil aircraft subjects built and shown [as an aside, though - this IS Revell's Cessna Citation rather than the Dassault Falcon, right??? :) ]

István Szücs Thank you, Dominik!
10. May, 15:02
Dominik Weitzer long time after painting i started the completing. Mounted windows, headlights from inside the body.
my horrible part was, to slip in the undercarriage. specially the rear end, not to stretch the body too wide as the glued and painted bumper is cracking. I really had to talk myself into it ... but it doesn't help! must be finished
At the end, it worked out very well. with no damages till yet. hurrah!
30. May, 09:14
Christian W Delicious. I like the color of the interior matches so good to black.
30. May, 19:33
Bill Newcomer I was at my LHS to day (supporting my local economy) and saw this kit on their shelf.
31. May, 00:30
Dominik Weitzer Bill, I like this kit a lot. It goes together very nice!
Some points to take a closer look:
In the manual, the bumpers should be mounted at last, after interior and undercarriage is mounted in. I took another way.
- before painting I mounted front and rear bumper. To fit perfect, I had to sand the edges so that the parts fit neatly.
- on the rear bumper I needed some putty
- the transition from the bumper to the body was not smooth, I had to grind it.
- Before painting I checked the bonnet. She was a little bit wider and deformed.

Of course, as I mounted the bumpers first, to slip in the undercarriage is a little bit tricky on the back. There it is to go first in place, very carefully.
31. May, 07:29
Christian W On my body I sanded the engine hood a little narrower to get it fit after the paint is on the body. Without paint there is really little space between the fenders and the hood.
Also I needed putty on the rear bumper to the quarter panels.

I never noticed this model in your home! Sweetie
29. May, 18:51

29. May, 18:49
Dominik Weitzer always appreciated Bro. Thats why i post time to time my collection.
on this big database with such extreme kits, i also like to see some of them built. and in my opinion it doesn't matter, in wich condition those old pieces of plastic are!

Dominik Weitzer ...old and tired...lets the tail hang...i think, i must give him a freshup
29. May, 14:25
Christian W :) First it was planned for the basic car under the camper of the racers wedge bundle. Today, I wouldn't paint it in that bright yellow. Probably.

Side notice: I think I need a mold of the tailgate :*
29. May, 18:56
Bob Hall Mine has that same bed tilt issue too, but in the process of fixing that. Looks great though !
29. May, 19:22
Dominik Weitzer Thanks Bob! perhaps i will lay my hands on it to restore it. btw, it is sitting near my bench. Now. 8)
Christian, i have a newer issue from it that will be with the OpenRoadCamper. If the tailgate is the same ;) , ...sure you can have it.

Dominik Weitzer no worry Danny, i've done long steps till now.

what happend?
See the pictures. that was easy to describe :-D .
O.k., i had to glue the sidepanels on the floor because i will sand the doorentrys and will have less gapes as possible while finish mounting when all is painted. So i had to make my choices, what colors i will have for the interiors:
one black/white, the second black.

i installed the magnets for the doors to hold them in place and - i like that a lot! - it makes a really beautiful "klack" when closing the doors. Now, i will say: that operation is well done! Now i can go ahead to the vinyl roof trim and starting the work to paint them.

what still pays off: that I build one for testing. then the second one runs much better and "construction defects" do not repeat themselves.
17. May, 15:45
Danny Meer I take my hat of for you sir really looks fantastic!
17. May, 16:21
Bill Newcomer I love your tutorial pics on what you have done to get where you are. I can tell that I won't be cutting up any of my Chargers. Way too much work with my skillset.

18. May, 08:22
István Szücs I love it!
18. May, 09:25
Christian W The chassis looks great so far.
20. May, 21:16
Dominik Weitzer Some work done.
The doorentrys to the B-Pilalr are well sanded as wished, fitting very nice. So it was time to see more results and i made my first decision for the paint. One will be bright blue.
So i painted (both Charger) parts similar on the sprues, primed both undercarriage and interiorparts. After that i painted the first one bright blue and completed the rear axle. The front will be attached as the body is completed. Thats the only way, while mounting the body possible don't brake anything on the front.
Thats why those testfittings interior/body/undercarriage are very important.
I'm very happy with this weeks progress.
Now? on to the bodys :)
20. May, 21:26
Dominik Weitzer short step told, lot of work made.
the interiors are ready detailed and also painted on the outter sides with bodycolor and clearcoat.
then i went to the body parts. the first layer of primer is on, and i'm surprised, that i have only about four/five spots to fill and sand. i painted the bodyparts also inside (doors, hoods)

David Wilcox Nice work. How did you create the seatbelts?
27. May, 09:32
Dominik Weitzer Thank you very much! Much appreciated :)
Tom, i used the italeri 300SL and the Revell Ferrari Superamerica (<- this bad boy will show up next days)

David, the belts are from scaleproduction. but in the meantime i work with adhesive plasters from the first aid kit (much material on a roll). i choose the white one, cut it in wide stripes i need and can paint it in every color. the point is, it has the adhesive side that makes it easier to mount the buckles and to fix them on the seats.
The photoetched buckles are from...i cant remember the brand.
