Done !! the Fokker D.VII

Album image #1
How it started....

Album image #2
The Fokker next to the V1 makes you think....

Album image #3
control surfaces on the tail

Album image #4
Rudolph. Needs some paint.
And I saw a picture of someone who put a real scarf around his neck, so that's a great idea.

Album image #5
Rudolph got some colour, so far so good !!

Album image #6
Started with the Lozenge

Album image #7
Part two of the lozenge; getting straight lines at all the edges will need some touch up...

Album image #8
Part three... now it's clear where I missed some spots...

Album image #9
As Freddy Mercury used to sing "I'm going slighly mad...."

But al four colours of the lozenge are on the underside, when dry I'll do the rest of the touch up

Album image #12
Fitting the outer struts....

Album image #13
Do.Not.Touch.

Album image #14
After adding the inner struts, the construction becomes really stiff. Interesting to see how that works, even on this small scale

Album image #15
Album image #16
Rigging of the tail and undercarriage with stretched sprue pieces

Album image #17
Struts and nose need so more work....
And Rudolph's scarf (good results from practicing with thinned glue and tissues)

Album image #18
Not finished, but at least all parts are in place !!

Album image #19
The colours are a little darker than the instructions indicated, but I think it looks good.
The decals really make the model stand out

Album image #20
Rudolph's scarf

Album image #21
Last two decals on both sides of the fuselage

The pilot must have had a pretty good view from the cockpit I suppose

Christmas decorations makes a fine display base

Dryfitting

Album image #34
Tight fit with two men, but it works

Album image #35

Album image #36
First coat of wood

Album image #37
Needs some lighter coloured dry brushing to add texture

Album image #38
Tarp is too yellow and needs white dry brush. Texture is nicely molded.

Album image #39
Horses are now too bright, but I didn't want to start too dark

Album image #40
Wagon is done, happy with the result

Album image #41
Album image #42
Album image #43
Found a photo of the original, or at least a similar size wagon.
Impressive to see.

Album image #44
Colour of the horses is better now, but still need work (brown wash).

Album image #45
If it doesn't work out, I'll start all over again with one of the other sprues.

Is this pattern hand painted?- if yes, my compliment!

The white background with the boxes is the standard decal from Revell 😉
All that I have to do is paint the correct little box....

So they give you a paint-by-numbers decal? It looks like you're going to get a great result!

Yes, It's rather simple. The edges of the wings need some attention i think (the decals are too big, so you have make them fit)

It looks fun to get it all figured out.

1970's kitchen floors used to look like that. It was a big thing when you had new lino!

Bas Tonn
not so much 😉 this revell kit comes with a full size (oversize?) decal with the pattern, so it's basicly painting-by-numbers

Your step-by-step, patient job on this very educational project really paid off! 👍 - And the scarf... what a nice touch! 👍 👍

Thanks Alex. The scarf is neat, but not originally mine, I have seen it before.

Well, you saw something that seemed like a good idea - and you tried it out and implemented it successfully, that's what counts!

Wow, even by numbers it must have taken a lot of patience to paint that lozenge 👍
In the old times they didn't even provide a pattern, gave this build up as a teenager
