I like the weathering, 👍 but I think...if it's not under the rain it looks a bit to shiny 🤔 just my two cents.

Nothing wrong with costructive criticism, plus that was actually the effect I was looking for this tank. After all,from what I've read about the battle of Berlin, the weather was rather rainy and generally miserable. That said, I've also seen plenty of comments that suggest that WW2-era paint was way more glossy than would be acceptable on military vehicles nowadays, with some people going as far as suggesting going with a satin varnish finish on their AFV's. The overall glossier paint seeems plausible from what I've seen in museums (most recently in Speyer) *shrugs*

Thx for your understanding reply. Yes it was intended to be one. Not arguing opinions and in some photos it looks shiner than others, so I still like it. Looking forward to see the finished result 😎

@Rui S - No problemo, half the reason I've started posting build pictures is to get constructive critique 🙂 As for seeing the completed kit, I'm looking forward to it too, but at this point I'm solely at the mercy of the EU's postal services ... and judging by the amount of missing or delayed packages, they're not in a particularly merciful mood 😄 That said, I weighing in on whether to do another coat of Vallejo Matt varnish or to just let common household dust take care of the shininess - I had a a similar issue with a T-62 and letting the tank stay outside of my display case for a couple of weeks and it started looking "just right"
@Villiers - Thanks!

Eventually, I may get around to making a proper diorama if I find a decent Reichstag/Brandenburg gate diorama base*, but for the moment that T-34/85's chilling in my case in front of a black and white photo of a column of tanks from the 20th Tanks that *may* include the actual tank.

Or get me a 3D scanner. Then I can just grab something like Italeri's 1/72th scale diorama set to scan and upscale for myself (so I can 3D print it), before gifting to my niece 🙂

Looking forward any of those options. I hope you have a display cabinet for Brandenburg gate in 1/35 🙂

Album info

At long last, after 2 disappeared tune-up packages... the all sorts of wrong Korean Era-vintage T-34/85 has been reworked into a (more-or-less accurate) Battle Of Berlin one. Now, I just need to maybe upgrade this bugger into a full-up diorama, but that's a question for the future 🙂
