Well....you wanted to be challenged. Here it is. Take your time, this scale ship will take a while.

I plan on making better kits of ships I've actually visited (CV-10 Yorktown, USS Massachusetts). I'm not looking for perfection on this one. But it was $8 and should allow me to experiment a little bit before moving onto more expensive models.

Good plan! Detail it to your best to get an idea of what you can do and go from there. I've only been on the Midway.

When I was in Boy Scouts as a kid we spent a few nights sleeping on the Yorktown. Then a year later on the Massachusetts for a few days. This summer I hope to see the USS North Carolina, but as an adult I won't be spending the night this time. 🙂

I wouldn't advise trying a sleep over now! You'd spend most the night n jail! LOL! Hey isn't the Ranger out that way too?

I could be mistaken, but I believe all the Ranger ships were scrapped, sold or sunk. You can also still sleep on both of those ships I mentioned and you don't have to be a scout, it's open to families too.

My bad, You are correct! just read, in 1992 the CV 61 ranger was moved to San Diego and scrapped. Guess the newer version of Top Gun was filmed on a newer carrier. LOL!

I was close to considering buying a carrier kit at a discount, but looking at reviews I realized the internal deck wasn't in the kit and had to be scratch built, and although as much fun as it sounds to add a deck I just have so many other things I should finish first. :|
