Very nice. Y-wing Design is timeless. Great paintjob
Thank you both!
Stunning result, very nice, congrats

Cool effect on the wing panels. I would have never thought of doing it that way.
Thanks! It was super easy and replicates what's seen in the movies pretty well.
Nice effect on wing panels. How did you do that?
Jiri, I used Tamiya Panel Liner. Load up the brush and circle it around until you're happy with the result.
the most simple solutions usually are the best solutions. those panels looks simply great 🙂
Thank you Spanjaard, I agree!

Assuming you have uploaded jpg's, you can use your album management buttons to rotate images. Doesn't work with png's, but photos ought not be png's anyway (but good for technical drawings).
Corrected: Thank you
What's wrong with png? ScaleMates supports them now, smaller file size, no pixel corruption....I like them better than jpg.
You're a fast builder Chris! Another nice one!
Lmao! I wish I was that fast. These models have been done for a bit. I just finally took worthy pictures of them today and uploaded them to put a cap on the projects. This month does celebrate 12 months since I first started modeling though!
Nice job! I have this kit too.

Nice, I just picked up this kit too.
I'm convinced we might have the same model collection.
We do have a few kits in common. I'm totally into all things sci-fi. As they say, great minds think alike!
Hard to disagree there! The only difference we seem to have are tanks. I love WW2 and enjoy planes and ships. I just have never gotten into tanks.
Funny, I started with tanks first to learn on, but no cars or aircraft, although I have lots of both in my stash.
I like sailing ships too. And Ford trucks, but my heart belongs to sci-fi, and I've been working steadily in that direction. Just recently got into Gundam, and am learning how to add lighting effects, and display bases and dioramas.. The sky's the limit!
I have a fondness for sailing ships and would love to have a small sailboat of my own one day. I feel like the rigging would drive me insane! Gundam is another one that I haven't gotten into yet. However, I think I have enough hobbies already! Photography, models, 3D printing, my drone, the list goes on.

Oh I am definitely going to watch this one!
I added some pictures for ya! Project is on hold for now because the decals were atrocious. So I want to take some time and think about how I may want to proceed.
Wow dude! Holy crap! Your work is awesome! I know all about the decals! It's the one thing holding up my build too, they are like strips of vinyl, or something, aren't they? and no decal solvent works.. I have been working on this problem for more then 2 years, and have failed many's times and have since been learning how to make my own decals, and with the help of my mates, through lots of trial and error.. I may have a custom made decal set for Anakin's Podracer. I have yet to print these out, but I can assure you, they look spot-on perfect. When I figure it out, I will make this resource available.
Thank you! I couldn't get the decals to conform to the actual pod. MicroSol couldn't even handle it. Currently, I'm leaning towards painting them on. The question for me is, do I want to try and get the Cricut to cut the masks out...or do I just want to mask it by hand.
I'd like to see the Cricut in action, but if you can mask that pattern by hand, it would be amazing. Don't know too much about the Cricut, maybe you can create a stencil with it?
The Cricut is basically a cutting machine. Usually for vinyl, chipboard, etc... But I imagine you could dial in the settings to cut masking tape. It'll take some trial and error.

Super tiny. I picked up this kit on clearance at Hobby Lobby here in the US.
That's also where I got mine! I usually avoid 1:144 because I'm taller and my hands are a bit large. But who could resist the price for a quick easy build?
I have this kit too, nicely done!
Thank you JD!
