Ah, front row! cockpit is looking good already 👍
I just rewatched that episode and Mr. Waldron is right on the three dangerous places (I would also add the gap right in front of the CM stores to the list) but I think he is a bit too dramatic, just some gaps to fill&sand mainly. But its good to keep these area in mind during construction 🙂

Thanks Daniel. Had to put the project on ice until I get the Mr. Hobby Lacquers...I bought acrylics by mistake.

To be honest, I didn't expect a Revell kit to have pretty good recessed panel lines. As usual, when you get a Revell or Monogram kit the panel lines are always raised. They are a bit shallow which is why I'm using thinned out lacquers opposed to acrylics, I think I'll be able to retain more surface detail that way. Thinking about what you said, Daniel, you're right. After dry fitting and looking at the seam line underneath where the wings fit in, I have plenty of sanding tools that will take care of that. Engraving detail back in shouldn't be a challenge either. I think it'll turn out to be a good build. While I'm waiting to get my lacquers in I started on a Hasegawa A-4M, which seems to be turning out alright. The PE went on a lot easier, looks neater, and I think it going to be a pretty straight forward build.

Yes, they do have some pearls between a lot of junk kits...in 48 the F-15E, the Rafale, the Tornado and this one come to mind. Or their hasegawa reboxes. I quite liked the panel lines on the Hornet, they dont get too much in-your-face even with a black wash. also worked for me and my fat vallejo acrylics+2 layers of brushed on future😉 But on some areas I also deepened them IIRC
One tip: I would recommend something like super glue on the LEX gaps to give them some extra strength, on my first build I used normal putty which cracked really fast, because things moved during handling.
Anyway, have fun! 🙂

I totally agree with you Daniel, I built the Rafale M .... that is one of the best kit supplied ever, add to the super decals and great quality plastic...it's a little gem!

Thanks, Gentlemen, will do regarding the LEX gaps. I'll post more pics when I get the paints required to move forward. While I'm on the topic.of paints, has anyone had experience with Hataka Orange Line Lacquers? I've heard good things, particularly how well they work with Mr. Hobby leveling thinner. Any feedback, gentlemen?

Unfortunately my wife passed away in July. I haven't had an interest in doing anything as of late. Maybe I'll get back into it soon. Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

Album info

Like I mentioned, I'm new to using PE. Feeling like the Eduard PE cockpit for Revell didn't turn out as clean as I wanted it to. That's OK, it's a learning process. Figuring out the problem areas highlighted by Genesis Models YouTube video will be a challenge.
