Matilda with riding infantry pass a Panzerjaeger I damaged and abandoned after a 2pndr shot shattered the gun shield and killed two of the crew, scattering the rest. It'll be my first time building some dead figures; there aren't many to choose from so I may have to Frankenstein and modify my own. Thanks to a commenter for the note about a PzIIIL being too new to have been in a battle with a Matilda.

I think those two tanks never faced each other in combat. You should go for earlier Pz III variant. Do some research, if accuracy is your goal. If not, have fun.

Hehe. Accuracy is not. I had a Tamiya IIIL I was going to use in another project and I switched it out for a command version, so I had a 80% finished L laying around. Usually if I can get the theater of operation right, I'm happy. I'm more interested in story telling with figures. 🙂 Thanks for looking!

No problem. I was in that stage few years ago. It was pure fun. Good luck with your project.

Vladimir, I took your advice and dropped the IIIL from this idea. After looking into it more, the times the two vehicles were there was way too different even for me. 🙂 Sadly the Panzerjager that I thought would work best now costs a fortune on the secondary market. Maybe truck or half track then?

watching... I just built this Matilda and it was a joy, best engineered kit I've ever had the pleasure of putting together.

Nice! It's good to hear that Tamiya is still engineering the best stuff. 🙂

Glad I could help. You have a lot of options, it's all up to you, what do you have in stash, etc... I like trucks and half trucks much more then tanks. If you need an idea, maybe I can find some photo that will make you move.

I think I'm settling on a truck. There are some nice early war truck kits from Dragon and ICM that could work. At the rate I'm going I don't think I'll get to this particular diorama for at least a year. 🙂

You could let the Matilda ambush a kubelwagen?

Then you will have only Matilda on sand...
