Good ol Hasegawa/ Revell Germany. They use this 962 mould with rear brake ducts that, through all the references I can find, don't exist. I'm guessing one team somewhere in Japan used cut out ducts like that are moulded onto this kit and no one else did. You can see, even on the box pic: no protruding brake ducts. So, first job is to correct that. That rectangular cut out behind the front wheel may be a little tougher......

Filled in the improper vent with epoxyputty. Sanded it down, touched up the paint, maybe now I can finish this mostly incorrect project......he said.

I'm happy to be in the 'looks good to me' corner. There are so many incorrect kits out, I'd have quit the hobby if it got to me.

Correct or not, your build looks better than good to me, great actually!

It's coming along, thanks. The upside to Hasegawas 962 kit is that it only has like 12 pieces. And at least, most of the incorrect things are fixable......unlike with Tamiyas slot car "kit".....which has like 6 pieces.

Too bad no one made a proper 962. Looking good though.

Right?! You expect better from Tamiya. I'm wondering if it would be practical to 3D print an air vent to transplant over the cab/cockpit/what have you to correct the most glaring error for the Hasegawa kit. Lots of doors and rear decks out there.....HINT HINT!

Welcome aboard, everyone. It may be a few days before I move forward as I got covided! A tad too much of a headache to focus my 962 chi right now.

Thank you everyone, i'm glad I could salvage the project.
I am feeling better, thank you for asking. That covid takes its sweet time in going away. The big thing for me was that I felt okay sitting still but the instant I tried doing anything, all my energy went away and I tried coughing up my lungs.....fun!

I am glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. That sounds like it has been no fun at all.
