Thanks! Parts of the project was pretty time consuming, but well worth it in the end...

Hi Andreas! Rummaging around for a STRV 121, I bumped into your build. Really nice! 👍 What Mr. Paint colors did you use exactly?

Yeah, the camo net is awesome, how did you make it?

Thanks Patrick!
Colors used is MRP-176 (Black/Swedish Army color #093M), MRP-177 (Dark Green/Swedish Army color #326M), MRP-178 (Mid Green/Swedish Army color #322M) and MRP-179 (Tan/Swedish Army color #507M)
Also used Tamiya, AK and MIG for some details and touch-ups. Used black UMP primer on this.

Thanks Neuling! It turned out pretty ok considering it's my first.

Well Holger, I'll have to say I can't take credit for the net, it's Accurate Armours pre-fabricated net (photo etch, link: accurate-armour.com/..orama-photo-etch/d43 ), my only contribution on that part was painting and applying.

However I'm considering giving a DIY net a go on my current project, and will then try this method: plasticwarfare.se/20..lage-netting-in-135/

Instructions above is for the non-thermal camo net. But I saw someone that used this and then added tape on the "inside" and it looked pretty realistic.

You're welcome! Accurate Armour have some really amazing stuff, I got their tank ARV resin conversion in my stash (and a donor).

As far as the netting goes I think they are super, ive used them on a couple of other builds as well and they really adds a little extra. Only issue I had with them is getting them locking as saggy as the real ones are.

Thanks Andreas! I'll include those colors in my next Mr. Paint order. And thanks for reminding me of that Plasticwarfare link. 🙂 I have the 1/72 Revell STRV 122 in my stash and bumped into that webpage while looking for ways to replicated the Barracuda system in 1/72. That still needs some good thinking though... 🙂

Yesterday somehow I ended up watching a special STRV 121 used for vehicle recovery training. It was driven into a big ditch on purpose the have the ARV crew something to tow.

Patrick, When I picked up the hobby again I got myself a couple of 1/72 tanks just to get started but I think it's way to small for me, I could never do camo net in 1/72. I still got a couple of 1/72 aircraft to practice on and refine some techniques on before hitting the 1/48. But I sometimes think details on the 1/35 are small.

MRP colors are wonderful to use I think, only issue is the odor I'd say.

I guess they kept a couple of the old 121's for practice purposes when they was decommissioned. I know they converted a couple of them to bridge layers also.
