Could be a Canadian M4A1 Grizzly

This is indeed clearly an M4A1 of the British 11th Armoured Division ( unit emblem known as "The Black Bull" ).

And to be entirely exact, given the "45" painted on the hull, this concerns the 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars regiment. The 15th/19th was sent to France, well after the D-Day landings, to serve as the Armoured Recce Regiment for the 11th Armoured Division from 17 August 1944 in France until 31 August 1945, where they ended the war in Germany.

Hope this helps! 👍

p.s. this image is a shot from a scene from Band of Brothers, right?

100% Band of Brothers, the assault on Neunen. A Tiger just hit a Cromwell.

Looking at some other shots of this tank, I get more and more convinced it indeed is a M4A1 Grizzly.

Now I know why you have been away John. You have uploaded allied stuff to your brain 😄

@HK: hahaha! 😛 😉 you are actually right, I have been doing just that ( there was a tiny bit of room left in my brain, which I needed to fill up with something 😄 ). My knowledge of Allied military vehicles was severely lacking, so I bought a bunch of proper books on Allied armor and started studying them more thoroughly 🙂

@Martin: yes, as far as I know all of the Shermans used in Band of Brothers are Grizzlies 👍 They all have the CDP tracks (Canadian Dry Pin tracks), which is a dead giveaway and makes it easy to identify them.

Thank you guys for the information. It is indeed from the Band of Brothers TV-Show. Its from Episode 4: Replacements. Earlier in this Episode there was a scene where the tanks and soldiers were moving from Eindhoven to Nuenen with Easy Company sitting on the Sherman. MasterBox MB35164: US Paratroopers and British Tankman France, 1944 will fit well for this scene. I needed to know which version of the Sherman this is, so i could buy the right one. Now i have found some Sherman M4A1 from different companys, some old some new.
Can someone recommend a good Sherman that i can use for my diorama?
Thank you!

Just remember, if you really want to build it as a Grizzly, you also need extra Tracks and Sprocket wheels: scalemates.com/kits/170107-f..-m4a1-sexton-canadian-tracks

Also, this is an interesting read if you want to know more about the specific details of the Grizzly M4A1: the.shadock.free.fr/..m4a1mlw/grizzly.html

Also, took a quick glance over the available kits. I think the scalemates.com/kits/538064-eduard-3716-m4a1-sherman is your best option.

Thank you Spanjaard for you kind words! 🙂 No i havent build the Sherman yet. But in the future for sure. I made a mistake with the Sherman. In the BoB series the Easy Company is riding on a Cromwell not on a Sherman. So first i have to check if the MB figures will fit on a Chromwell.
Even if i am goig to build the Diorama with the Chromwell, i will definitely build a Sherman in the future.
