The V150 hull is adapted to the Blackdog Vulcan gun turret, being moved forward according to the plan in Hunnicut. Only like that the gun turret can move freely from the drive train. Also an expansion is added on the left hull side, probably for the turret rotation motor? It is not to be found on the left side.

The interior is done in white with some green and Vallejo Feldgrau wash. The axles are mounted with some scratchbuilt parts after a thorough cleanup of the springs. I made the front axle steering.

Making the Vulcan stabilizing system with some brass profile, some pieces of Frog wheel hub, a clamp made out of an 1/24 Swordfish smoke bomb and of course the Meng bolt set.

Interesting project to see coming along! Stumbled about this in Hunnicutts book and was instantly fascinated by it. Cool to see this done as a model 👍

Hi Tom, I bought it in softcover and was also amazed about some of the shady subjects mentioned in it. Like the jumping tank, strange that was not yet made into a kit. Today the hand grips, lights and the start of the Vulcan turret is made. But it's very fragile, I had to reconstruct it because it shattered like an egg shell. Maybe the shield is not even necessary, this is probably just the trailer version.

To my relief the Aber barrel can effortless be combined with the resin turret. One caveat is the manual that contains the wrong part numbering. Only the hole diameters should be trusted. I forgot the Doppler radar should follow the elevation, so some tweaking will stuill happen. The gun is now still a dry-fit, it will paint easier outside of the turret. Now I have to scratch that special magazine and then it's ready for painting.

The Vulcan magazine is scratchbuilt according to many photos found online. The armored turret is cut down to adapt to the unarmored variant. This was once issued as a Hobbyfan item, but that is probably out of order now.

The turret is now completely adapted to the pictures. The Blackdog radio was recognizeable and had to be moved outward. Some magazine details I made a bit out of scale, it's hard to avoid if you need to build more than one.

The paint is on now. Painting the wheels with the DEF mask was simple, but the masks were round and due to the weightedness the hubs were a bit elongated. So I put one mask over the other and used this on each wheel separately.

The Commando is finished, with an old Dragon tanker figure and a scratchbuilt base from plaster.

Thanks, Tom. A last-minute change was done to the side weathering, now with additional shades.
