A Mercedes-Benz! Very good taste, Kezza! Interesting is that just this type was build again as civilian car after WWII!
For a show-room car: are civil headlights & all given to do so?

Hi Thomas.👍 🙂
I am currently looking at these videos of the car and the wood grain dash looks like something I can do with the remnants of the Horten wood grain decals I have here, and the alclad is proving to be worth it's weight in gold for the stunning effect it gives, so, with the headlights, they have full clear glass lenses that can be left as is or, in the case of the cammo, just painted over. :-/
But have a look at these. 🙂

My friends all drive Porsche...Lalalala😄
Great kit! Do you bring some parafilm to Wangerooge, please? The results speak for them self! And Alclad is some cool stuff!

Hi Kerry, you australian Top-Model(er) 😉,
I like this Mercedes very well (bye the way, its the only Mercedes, I like) and I´m looking for the final of the model, you show us step-by-step.
But I want to please you something. On some pics is the color of the letters the same, as the backround. For example pics 19 and 23. It would be easier, you make it in a lighter color.

Holger an Arne. Thank you both for your comments and suggestions about the text being hard to read on the images, and Arne, I will rectify that soon mate. 🙂
Holger, I will be bringing a large roll of Parrafilm M with me to the meet, and there will be more than enough for every one to use so that they can experiment and develope ways of using it and get the best results. No worries mate. 👍

Kerry, feel yourself hugged and kissed! 😄
But dont bring too much, as you have only handluggage. Or just drop some parafilm in the package you send me;)

Wow! Kezza, this grill looks fantastic! Also, the Black Gloss Primer from Alclad is splendid!

Kerry COX
Yes Holger, I can feel the hugs and kisses mate. 🙂 and gents, I am really happy to let you know, I am becoming more and more confident in using the Alclad, having finally worked out it is just the lightest 'dusting' over the black base coat, consisting of several passes with the airbrush to 'build up' and not too close to the subject being painted (chromed).

Kerry COX
Holger, I am sure you have my email address, and if not, Thomas has it too, so, send me the address of where I am to forward all the stuff I want there ahead of me arriving mate, and I will mark on the package which is the Parrafilm, and then open it up and have some fun with it beforehand. 🙂

Thomas, I am also finding that the Alclad 'base' is actually a stand alone gloss in it's own right, that is just so beautiful and smooth, BUT, you can't spray it over a surface that has any sort of contaminant, like skin oils from finger prints, as that will stick out like dog's balls in the moonlight. 🙁

Thomas Mayer
Ah, Kerry, we all live and learn! The black coat looks very good on your pictures!

Ahoy Thomas. Thanks mate. 👍
I have just removed the parrafilm from the windows and it came out as good as I could hope for. 🙂
The masking for the cream colour will be a little tricky, but that's what has us hooked, doing the difficult and getting it right. lol 🙁 👍

That would be cool, Kerry! And yes, i have your emailaddy, oldsalty.;)

Hi Kezza,
Now you have convinced me. Alclad roks in the expert hands. The gloss is just excellent and the chrome really very convincing. I like these Mercedes and staff cars a lot I've some in stash, but the chromes always get me strained 😉 Well done Mate 👍

Rui, !! G'day mate. 🙂
Thank you my friend, I am now a big fan of Alclad, but like any paints I have hardly used, like the Vallejo acrylics, it took a couple of stuff up's to work out just what to do for a better result. :-/
Have you got the MiniArt kits of the staff cars. ?
I had some help on the Alclad paints by watching the youtube vid on how to get good results, so I have got the link and see what you think of the process.

Good to see you online mate. 🙂

Nice vid! New to me that the Alclad could be carefully polished between coats. I´ll try this next time!

Hi Kerry - absolutely top work until now. 👍 I'll take a seat. 😉
As Holger said, it would be a very fine idea to make a workshop for us using parafilm in a perfect manner on Wangerooge.
Fine that you're on board.

Thank you all gents for your comments and encouragement. 🙂 👍.
Mike, The parrafilm tips and tuition on Wangerooge I am only too happy to do mate, as I think it is something that only becomes good the more you put faith in it and your own courage to keep at it and the delicate touch with the blades you use when cutting in, as I do find that is the scariest part of using it still. :-/
There will be heaps of it for everyone to try something with. 🙂
Cheers. 👍

Album info

There are 4 versions of this Mercedes Benz offered by MiniArt, in the way of cosmetic appearance.
I have chosen to go with the version that the wealthy of the day could and did buy off the showroom floor, with it's distinctive cream and gloss black livery, black leather seats and, all the chrome bells and whistles.
