Pulling up a chair, are you going for a Dutch Fokker Erik?

Erik Leijdens
No this wil be a German Fliegerkorps Fokker Jan! Have a couple more D.VIIs in stash, at least one will be a Dutch machine! This one is to learn the kit better.

Oh, what's that? A Fokker? I'm in for sure!
I have done a OAW already in case you need some ideas. At least you should replace the tail skid, as I broke mine late in the build.

Ah, I understand the attraction, it is a good looking aircraft, and the many types of camouflage make it hard to resist (and choose a sheme for that matter)

Welcome mates! Yes Bughunter, yours will be a great reference! I admired it just now, hope I will achieve just a fraction of the quality of your build! I'm in doubt if I will use the lozenge decals provide by Eduard, there seems to be something wrong with the colors. They flipped them around I believe, but hey who's gonna notice that? I have OAW Fokker lozenge decals from Aviattic in the stash too but they are with pink rib tapes. Wingnut Wings instruction for Franz Buchners Fokker calles out that hey are probably blue.

Welcome Jan and Jos!

Finished the top sides. The Aviattic decals are really very nice, thin but very sturdy.

Beautiful lozenge job. Decals or not, takes some skill to make them look that good. I agree with the others, very fabric like effect.

Last update this year! Haven't worked much on model's lately, the lozenge is done on the Fokker. Sprayed some parts in grey primer, next step masking the ribs and spray some dark grey to serve as a pre shade.

Best wishes for 2024 all!'

Looking forward to see how you do the ribs

Made the first progress this year finally, painted the fuselage. Now add some decals and next will be the hard part. struts and rigging.

A beauty!
But you are joking: a Fokker D.VII and rigging! Ha Ha 😉 😉

Erik Leijdens
Haha for a noob as me it counts as rigging 😇😇

don't fear the struts - for me the just fell in place, one of the nicest fits I have seen.
The control cables to the upper wing are a different story …

After looking at the WnW profile drawing I noticed that front of the cockpit some "OAW colours" were missing. Added some lila and green, maybe needs some toning down. Also, I learned that the horizontal stabilizers need to be blue instead of white...!

Thanks mates and welcome!! Slow process with this one but it's coming along now. Tricky part starts now; getting the struts of the wings and undercarriage in the right position, and get them to stay there 🤪

Just thinking of all that lovely rigging your not going to do.
