Great start! It's good to see some older kits being dusted off and built.

Thanks Dave. It is dated by today's standards, but fun to figure out how to improve it (or at least try) 🙂

Count me in George 🙂

Another example of your great work. I like the T-34s, because you can do so much on your own. (Which you've brought to perfection) 👍

Thanks mates! After assembling the individual plastic tracks from Mirage (which required a lot of cleaning!). I think it's ready to start painting. 🙂

Thanks Aki! 🙂. I won't get much done for the next few days, but can't wait to get this one finished!

Nice George! Where did you get the resin wheels from?

Thanks Mates! 🙂. I hope it turns out in the end... Matthias, the wheels (and tracks) are plastic kits from Maquette. The are very inexpensive, and will work nicely (especially if they are going to be covered in mud😉 ). I don't know if they are still produced, or if Maquette is still in business. I think you can find them on eBay.

Hella George, I mean the ones you marked as rubber rimmed road wheels. Are they from Maquette, too?

So far so good 🙂

Thanks vorya 🙂. Matthias, the pierced rubber road wheels (white ones in the pictures) are all plastic from Maquette. All other wheels come with the kit. I think I have the wrong Maquette wheels displayed as being part of the project. Sorry. 🙁

Thanks M. Julian 🙂. Have you used the Maquette tracks? They have nice detail, but the plastic seemed a little odd. It seemed like it took a lot of plastic cement to get them to bond...

Yes, I did have trouble...in those times the Eastern European manufacturers were not like the ones today - ICM, Masterbox, Zvezda have really decent quality for their new stuff. The old Maquette/ICM/Alan/AER Moldova/Mirage/Alanger stuff had sub-par plastic, you can see lots of multicoloured swirls in the plastic, huge attachment points, tonnes of seams, flash, knock out marks, etc....I ended up using epoxy to fix them to each other 🙂
