I´m still on the search for soviet submarine decals. I couldn´t use the ones from the kit.

Thank you very much guys! The sea floor could have been a bit more sandy in colouring. I will do this the next.

Album info

I was thinking a long time if I should use the old Dragon Alfa class kit or not. After receiving some rock casting moulds I had the idea to make a seafloor diorama. In order to do a testrun of casted rocks I decided to use the Alfa, too. With this background I thought it doesn´t matter that the kit is very old and not as accurate as modern ones. It is more important to me to catch the feeling of the deep sea.
In Tom Clancy´s novel W.K. Konowalow is described two times prowling around to hunt down Red Ocotber. The first scene is located in the Barent Sea with orders to hunt the Typhoon and figure out the technical capabilities.
The second scene is at the end of the novel where comander Tupolew stays back next to the US coast prepared to sink Red October if she should arrive.
