As I can see from your WiP pics you also have a H sprue 😄
Btw. you have to remove the 6 stubs from your lower hull ( surprisingly😉 rarely mentioned in the instructions) and the fender supports on the last station will be the source of some swearing because at least one fender will not fit 🙂
I would add A14/15 and B9/10 now, much easier this way ( front fender support plate)

Thanks mate! I saw A14/15 B9/10 yesterday when I checked ahead and it was a bit like what? Now? Why not at the beginning? Yes, I'll fix 'em in place as that would mean that I can get rid of one sprue. I did some test fitting yesterday and noticed that the stubs have to go, so typical Dragon to not mention them. But I'm a bit disapointed whit the muffler alignment as everything else so far have had a great fit.

I want to watch this one 👍😉

Grab a seat mate! But be prepared for it going slow...

The tool box on the right fender. Was it made of wood or sheet metal? A57 + A35
25 January 2016, 10:37
Holger Kranich
Nice start Urban! The PzIII is one of my favorites! And the toolboxes are made from metal, as far as i know...
25 January 2016, 10:45
Urban Gardini
Thanks mate! What got me curious is that there's minor structure on one side of it that could be either light wood grain or mold ripple.
25 January 2016, 10:59
Urban Gardini
And while I ask questions. The bore cleaning rod. I gather that it's unpainted wood with dark grey metal joints. Would the "sponge" be the same colour or even light grey? But it it was light grey it wouldn't be that after the first use...
25 January 2016, 11:08
Holger Kranich
I saw some cleaning rods even painted in the vehicles colour. And the sponge or brush would become quickly dark and dirty after using🙂

A25, a S shaped round giant wrench tool. I don't know what it is intended for but am I right in asuming that it have an bakelite handle that allows the tool to rotate inside it?
25 January 2016, 14:35
Holger Kranich
Sounds more like an S-shaped hook fo putting the tracks on... Do yu have a Picture of it?
25 January 2016, 14:45
H K
The cleaning rods were often painted in the vehicle color and the brush was protected by a leather cover.

The little clear sprue marked with P is little of an enigma for me. It's marked for use but I can't find any mention of the parts anywhere in the instructions.
28 January 2016, 15:45
H K
The small lamps on P are for earlier Panzer III, definitely not for this one. You could use P1 or M3 for the front turret visor- behind E5.
28 January 2016, 16:33
Urban Gardini
Ah, I wondered about the vision port on the mantle. The lamps is ok as they're kind of obvious. There's an option for the convoj light. I'm gonna go with the six light fold up/down one but just how widespread was the use of the blue cylindical one?
28 January 2016, 16:42
H K
Theoretically the tubular one was the late one. But I have seen lots and lots of pictures with the old version on late vehicles. If you really want to go for 100% historically accuracy you need a photo ( and hope that the version is visible 🙂 )

I will follow this one with great interest 👍

Thanks mate! Rui, just grap a seat...

Yap, and a beer😉
Sometimes I see panzer III ausf N or described as so, but then I don't see that distinctive exhaust can.
29 January 2016, 00:02
Urban Gardini
So far it's only the exhaust that have been troublesome with this build and it wasn't that bad other than the alignment error that proved to be a quick fix.

Looks great 👍 I love the real Smart Kits.
29 January 2016, 16:05
Urban Gardini
It's a good kit. Possibly a bit too much parts to be a real Smart Kit in my mind. But the fit is excellent.

Nice progress, Urban. Keep on the great work Mate 👍

I tried to paint the camouflage pattern with Ammo of Mig but no matter how much I thinned it it keept fighting me. I like the colours otherwise but now it spit and clogged the needle if I blinked. Had to break out the XF-60 and repair the worst and then continue with the camouflage by loading the airbrush with Gunze H420. Besides that, I couldn't use my trusty 0.2mm needle as well due to a cracked nozzle so I had to make do with the 0.4mm needle.
10 February 2016, 15:28
Holger Kranich
What a pitty what happened to your 0,2 needle... But your Progress Looks quite good! Is the fit still acceptable?
11 February 2016, 07:20
Urban Gardini
The fit is still excellent, in fact it's on par with Tamiya. The needle is ok but the tip of the nozzle is cracked, see photo.
11 February 2016, 12:35
Bart Goesaert
nice build so far... won't it give some problems to fit the different parts together when painted? Like upper and lower hull?
12 February 2016, 13:57
Urban Gardini
It'll work with TETC and any visible seam will be weathered. The reason for it was to make it easier for me to paint before I added the vision blocks on the hull mid section plus ease to paint the air inlets to the engine as well. But I can't close it up before I've weathered the rear as there's two arms to the hatches that I need to install from the inside. My next Pz.III will probably have those hatches closed I think and thus saving me a lot of hazzle...
12 February 2016, 14:10
Urban Gardini
Now it'll get a bit tricky for me. A spur of the moment decision to try to use some stuff from my old Verlinden interior crap for Tammy's Ausf. L and some PE from Aber's PE set for the same Tammy kit. Why? It boils down to me not liking the lack of detail in the turret and I'd like to have the hatches open on this build. So I hope that I can adapt some of the stuff to this build. Wish me luck! By the way, there goes the thought of for once make an OOtB build...
13 February 2016, 14:19
Rui S
I wish all the luck Mate. 👍 I'm sure you will nail it.
But also I would like to see it OOB. Maybe next time.😉
13 February 2016, 14:22
H K
Oh boy 🙂 Good luck, you`ll need it 😄
13 February 2016, 16:18
Urban Gardini
Yes, the Verlinden resin is horrible. But I need to do something at least so it wont be looking empty through the hatches.

Missed this. Looks very cool!
20 February 2016, 19:28

Thanks mate! Progress is slow though...
20 February 2016, 19:34
Rui S
Quick and well there's nobody. Or, the quick is perfection enemy's. 👍
20 February 2016, 23:01
Urban Gardini
True that mate, it's better to go slow and precise than hurry the production.
20 February 2016, 23:13
Urban Gardini
There's a big risk though that I'll need to remove the spent shell casing basket from the gun before I'm done. It'll probably interfer with the turret interior. But I do believe that some crews did remove it in their tanks as well so there's no problem and more of the interior will be seen as well through the hatches that way. We'll see when I come to that how I'll do...
20 February 2016, 23:17
Rui S
I think they just let then fell in the floor during the fighting or throu them out.
20 February 2016, 23:44
Urban Gardini
Yeah, besides that, Dragons basket isn't that good after all...
20 February 2016, 23:46
EnsignExpendabl
Holy moly, that's definitely much more impressive than my Dragon Tauchpanzer III. I had a choice between getting that and the Ausf. N, looks like I made the wrong choice.
11 April 2016, 14:42
Holger Kranich
Some very nice Details in the turret! Looking splendid to me! Do you already have the interior colour? What brand will you take for painting the interior? Elfenbeinweiß from?
11 April 2016, 14:48
Urban Gardini
Thanks mates, most of the interior isn't from the kit itself as it's a mix of Verlinden and Aber and meant for Tammy's Ausf. L plus a salvaged MG34 for the coaxial. Holger, I'm thinking on giving Ammo of Mig #017 RAL9001 Cremeweiss a try. I primed all resin as well as the turret interior last night with Gunze Mr.Finishing Surface 1500 Black in preparation for some more painting.
11 April 2016, 15:38
Holger Kranich
Hi Urban,

yep cremeweiss is indeed a good choice. I have to admit that i was slightly surprised by the fit of the parts, ists amazing! But i´m still struggling with the Magic tracks. Isnt easy to find the right glue for them.
12 April 2016, 06:22
Urban Gardini
Yes, so far it's only the muffler that's been given me trouble so this is indeed a good kit. It's been many years since I used Magic Tracks now and when I last used 'em I painted 'em first and then used Model Master Liquid Cement and fixed the whole run in place before the glue set. I'm thinking on using TETC this time and fix 'em in place while the glue set and then remove 'em for the painting. But now I got reminded of the fact that I still have one bag for this one to clean ejector pin marks from, I've only done the track links for the right side so far...
12 April 2016, 06:46
Holger Kranich
Cleaning that pin marks is indeed a work for someone who killed father and mother. But in the end they look pretty. 🙂 Actually i use Tammys Extra thin. Against my concern, the tracks remain a bit flexible!
12 April 2016, 07:18
Urban Gardini
It's tedious indeed and I don't have anything thin enough to sand the pin marks down so I've to scrape them off with my #11...
