Great start Roland! If I get it right it's a 2014 mold - I've heard the new Airfix kits are actually good, is that the case? In any case, looking forward to the next steps!

Thank you Slavo and Clifford! I appreciate that too, all the new Airfix kits I havegot my clumsy hands on were more than worth putting on the workbench!
But here I noticed for the first time that rough fitting inaccuracies which will cost some effort. I am thinking especially of the large gap left by the front cockpit cover on both fuselage half-shells - I will show you more photos of this.

But apart from that this project is also an Airfix-typical joy, as you can say now thank god again!

Thank you Jürgen! Hier kommen die nächsten Bilder! A Spit with a two blade prop looks unsusale- but I am very happy, Airfix offers the chance to build a decent early Mk I.
The model is now sanded and built into shape to get first paint on it.

Great looking Spit, Roland! I am doing two early Mk.1s from the Airfix 1/72 boxings, great little kits.

The surfaces, with black and white undersides and pre-shading and pre-lighting having been prepared, are ready for "Dark Earth"!

Nice preps! How much wear & tear will the early Spit get? So far it looks like a run for a decent boy with some fading, I like that.

Thank you Slavo! Only a very decent amount of stains will be applied, as I suppose those early Spits as being held as preciosity 🙂 The underside is of special interest: to the rather well known black and white left and right side is supplemented with rudder areas painted in silver- that will look good I suppose!

Thank you Jim!
This "early" Spit has been finished this weekend! I am happy to have a two bladed example of Britain´s finest in my collection- and I think, comparing it with an early Hurricane, as visible on two of the new pictures, makes it clear why the shapes of the Spit are known as so elegant and timelessly beautiful. . The Airfix kit pleases the modeler with nearly perfect fit; in some areas it is even similar to a snap kit. Only the clear parts need some sanding and filling. Decal do work great and without any issues- all in all I would like to recommend it in any manner. Thank you all for your interest and your comments mates!
