I start this post with a few shots of the shell of the inspiring Gipsy Major replica that Mikro Mir is preparing. After all the splendour has to disappear completely under the cowling, I'll have the fun of spicing up the engine to the best of my abilities as a small "model within a model", photograph it -and then let it disappear into oblivion. 🙂)

Thanks for the "likes", mates!
This is the result of the short fun I allowed myself there - and now off with the beautiful part into obscurity!

Ah, so that's the engine that went into Tiger Moths? Excellent stuff. We'll know it's there Roland!

After the excursion with the construction of the Gipsy Major, the interior is now on the agenda: Here you can see the current state before closing the hull and cowling half shells. The kit requires quite a lot of effort to clean up and trim the parts - which also appear to be cast a bit sloppily - but convinces with good fitting accuracy.

By the way, I made the instruments for the instrument panel in the following way: in the packaging of an etched parts cockpit for a Bf 109F I found the illustration of the instruments printed on paper twice - exactly what I needed! I cut the parts out of the paper and glued them from behind onto the etched parts of the Magister, then I prepared the glass with a drop of "Krstal Klear".

The shell of the Maggie has now been built really quickly; the accuracy of fit is really not bad at all! So instead of pictures of different stages of construction, here is an overview of the almost completed Magister. The tailplane still has to be sanded and various metal parts still have to be surface-finished, but then priming and pre-shading can begin.

Doesn't look quite colourful- but there is colour involved! Pre-shading and the Alclad "Polished Aluminum" layout of the undercarriage legs have been applied; actually, nothing stands in the way of applying the underside colour.

Very nice progress.

Now some colour has actually come into play: the Magister shows the yellow of the underside, now some masking can be done!

The surface colours are now applied and everything is ready for the decals - the quality of which I am already quite excited about!

The design of the surfaces of the "Maggie" are now mainly finished. Of course there will be some more "wear and tear" - and especially some interesting parts like the two venturi tubes and of course the windscreens - but most of the Maggie is ready for final assembly - so the end is slowly in sight!

With these twelve new pictures I close this building story; Mikro Mir's Miles Magister has proven to be a wonderful and entertaining building project with few problems At the beginning I was playing with the removed Gipsy engine, at the end of the project I show the figures of ICM's "RAF cadetts" for the Magister. This set is intended for their new Tiger Moth, but I think it also fits here. Well, a Tiger Moth will follow by chance.
Thank you for your interest and your motivating comments, I hope you like the pictures as much as I enjoyed building them! 🙂
