Su-30SM Build Log

I couldn’t find references of the side walls so I just guessed which parts are covered by fabric

This took a LONG while and a sore trigger finger, oh and I broke a static discharger again.

Added clear orange and a little clear blue for variety

Pre-washed to bring more contrast and weathered tone

I forgot how dark colors are more opaque than light colors… I ended up covering most of the preshading.

I think it looks too pink at the moment. Maybe more contrast in the weathering will help.

Masking for the underside - I kept peeling off flakes of the main grey. I think it could be my fingers left some grease on the fuselage…

I added dark earth and white to the main color to shade it even further. Now it doesn’t look so monotone or patchy.

No… I just stared at the game texture a lot and eyeballed the scheme, I used panel lines and rivets as guides to make sure they are symmetrical.

Album info

I started this in early September, and I only managed to build the cockpit in two months…. I would expect to finish this project in Spring 2023.
