Just to prove I wasn't building badly - I checked the Fascinations website - same angled buttress too!!!
and the "flying" buttress doesn't meet here either!!!
Having confirmed my suspicions, I can safely say:
The problem with these parts, is that the lower of the two "flying" projections is too long, by about 1.5mm, which means that the upper of the two doesn't meet the building (it's supposed to be supporting!)!!

So I removed all of part #26' that I had installed, and chopped 1.5mm off the lower "flying" part
And now it touches where it should, and stands vertical
That's much better - Hope that's all!

Added all of the smaller flying buttresses - no size problems with these
The vertical view help to ensure that they're lined up OK.

It's important to make sure that the buttress parts are bent at 90 degrees, or the "flying" arm will point at the wrong angle.
I used a steel ruler, ensuring that the "end" of the buttress is held firmly against the edge of the ruler, then bend each side to the face & back of the ruler - makes manufacturing of these parts easy.

All of the side buttresses fitted - check the measurement of each one before you secure it in place.
And check that the "flying" arm points correctly.

I used my favoured "secret tab and eye" method when assembling these 4-walled constructions - makes it a little tricky to handle until you can start locking the "inside" tabs - but a much neater result.

The secret joins completed - probably photographed too close as all this shot does is highlight where the part was cut from the frame.

Now all the tower parts are ready to assemble.

Tower is attached to the rest of the building with only 2 tabs, then comes the tricky part of getting all 13 tabs into the receiving slots in the base.

here all the slots & tabs that secure the cathedral to the base....
and high up in the roof, TWO tabs secure the steeple in place...... Fine pliers needed here!

###Noticed error in parts for the "flying buttresses" so though I'd better document that!!
As Chris from M&H4U suggested, this one has a fire-proof roof!!
