Erprobungskommando 16

A vintage kit from the late 70ies or early 80ies that I found at a small model shop. It might even be as old as I am. Note the black circular sticker on the tail. No mystery what's underneath it and why they had to put it there. 

The instructions are typical Heller of the time. 

The decals show their age. I don't think I can use them or if I can find replacements? 

One sprue for the towing vehicle... 

...and four more or the Komet.
The parts look decent for their age, not too detailed and raised panel lines. I don't expect too much extra work. 

The clear parts are not so great but I'm not too bothered by that. 

A bit of dry fitting. 

Ready for painting I'd say. 

This might be one of the rare occasions where I didn't screw up the windows too badly. but we'll see when it's all done. 

This connection is to be riveted, that's my amateurish attempt at it. It's on the underside so not really a problem. 

After numerous layers of paint the underside looks good enough... 

... but the top side still needs two or three more. 

The towing vehicle is finished, I would say. 

Decals have arrived and applied. Time for a photo session...
