This was a really easy and fun build. No fitting issues whatsoever and a nice and colourful paint job.
I've used the following paints: Revell 05 White RAL 9001, 08 black RAL 9011, 09 Anthracite RAL 7021, 15 Yellow RAL 1017, 36 Carmin Red RAL 3002, 76 Light Grey (USAF), 90 Silver, 99 Aluminium and 731 Red (Clear), as well as Humbrol 025 Blue and 1322 Orange.
Very nice result!
Looks really good. Thanks for sharing - it is good to know that it can be completely painted before final assembly.
Looks really cool 🙂

Followig , I must be masochist , but I like those old and basic Plakiksrt kits
You folks are not the only ones 😄
Indeed! I humbly agree with all of you gentlemen.
Respect! The older I get the more I sympathize with LEGO kits 🙂
I've got a Mig-21 at also at 1/100 ,,,, hummmmmm ,,,,, may be I'll go for it ,,, let's see
Thanks for the comments, gentlemen. It is finally finished and turned out not too terrible, if I may say so myself 😄
Other than the defective left wing I did not have any major issues with this one. Unfortunately I forgot to add a bit of weight into the nose so that it is very unstable when standing only on its wheels. Unless I find a way to add some weight to the front area without taking the model apart it will forever be bound to be displayed on its stand.
I like it! 👍

A quick weekend project using almost exclusivley the paints that came with the kit. In addition I also used a bit of Humbrol 12 Copper and Revell 88 Ochre Brown.

The second Akula for my fleet. This will be a bit different from the previous one, with retracted hydroplanes and periscopes/snorkels and a different paintjob. I will also modify the propeller according to a suggestion by Treehugger.
My first ever attempt at working with PE-parts. Might have been a mistake to start with something that tiny, but we'll see how it goes.
Crazy details, looking good so far
There are not many parts, but they are super tiny and difficult to work with.

A while ago I acquired a tinlet of Humbrol 202 Aurora Pink Matt, which is a very bright if not fluorescent pink. I also have a USS Balao in my stash, so naturally the plan was hatched to build the SS Sea Tiger.
Other than the aforementioned Humbrol 202 I will use the following Revell paints: 05 White as primer, 77 Dust grey, 90 Silver, 91 Steel and 94 Gold.
YES! We all need a little Sea Tiger in our lives.

A nice and relatively simple afternoon build. Some parts needed quite a bit of extra work while others were almost perfect, from the same sprue. I will paint it at another time. The same goes for the other kit from that box.
Note: The model does not appear to be to scale. Depending on the dimensions measured it is about 1:85 in length, 1:109 in wingspan and 1:110 in height. Dimensions taken from Wikipedia and a ruler, so take that with a grain of salt.
