Very successful Superbike back in the day. I echo Spanjaard's inquiry, wtf with the crack?

i know, anotherone of my laquer issues i think, itwas mint when i put it in the display cabinet and they appeared about a month later 🙁 i have no idea but the gold in the crack is the paint that's under the purple, i think it was the laquer, that's a zero clearcoat, but ihave no idea wtf is going on to be honest

Zero is an automotive lacquer. Has to be put on in very fine sprays and each coat needs to dry. I suppose the end is a light sanding to even it out before a clear coat. My opinion only. I had issues with Zero melting plastic and reached out to them for advice. Didn't get an answer so no more Zero for me. The paint will work no doubt, many do use it successfully and it does an outstanding job looking at some of the models but the fact they don't answer a call for help did me in.

i see, i didn't know that Peter, thats how i feel about the alclad products, i bought about £50 of paint from them and they can't bebothered to respond to a few questions i had about the rubbish not hardening

yeah i'm not impressed with them either to be honest Peter, always rough and uneven finish, what drew me to them in the first place was that they do all the colour matching to the real colours which i thought was a nice touch, i'll be sticking to tamiya and mr.hobby from now on, they're the only paints i've had no real woes with, except that the mr metals always seem to rub off and need some sort of clear coat to keep them in place

I use mostly SMS Lacquers and Alclad. Details I will use Tamiya acrylics. The Tamiya Lacquers I have heard are excellent and Gravity Spain are too. Don't think SMS are available there.
