It's not 100% part of the project, but I thought it would fit in quite well. I once tested the 2022 18-Inch Tires similar to Lewis Hamilton with the Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 on the Imola Circuit on April 20, 2021.

I decided to remove the two cameras and install new, self-designed versions that are more detailed. So I had to saw this off and sand the area. Then prime again in preparation for the red paint. I had also prepared decals, but these could not be applied well and I decided to paint the area and only apply the black edge strip as a decal.

your own 3D design? looks good!
21 May 2021, 07:14
Thomas Steinke
No, not my design. I only scaled, adjusted and printed the parts in resin.

If we all got 3D printers that can produce this quality. Who would need to buy plastic kits any more. ? Different. !

Thomas Steinke
I also love to build plastic, but sometimes it just has to be printed when it's not there yet 😄

The future ahead may be just that we have our printer at home (or some local printing service) and we buy the option to print it from lers say Tamiya, and receive instructions, decals PE, by mail.....

Impressive! This is great work.

What type of printer are you using?

Those new F1 cars looks like alien devices for my eye 😄 😉

Thanks Dennis 🙂
It's a Elegoo Mars SLA printer. Hope I can print in the next days with my new Elegoo Saturn.

Just checked a review video an YouTube: that Elgoo Saturn looks promising and seems to be affordable.
17 June 2021, 09:30
Thomas Steinke
Yes, I love my Mars and I think Saturn will be great, because I can print larger parts directly in one piece and I don't have to cut up so much anymore.

Incredible work Thomas! Once you finished it, you should send it to the Mercedes-Petronas F1 team.
I'm sure they appreciate it
