Thanks Rui!
I checked and I started this project almost 10 month ago. Was sitting on the shelf for quite some time. Finally, I got to finish it...
Album info
There are 2 things I remember about this kit:
1. big-ass sprue gates
2. the love this kit was designed with - it must have been somebody passionate about the subject and probably a model builder.
If I forget all the part cleaning, the kit is engineered in a very good manner and comes together quite nicely. The fit is very good, I did not have to use much putty - if at all. The build can be broken in a few subassemblies that go together nicely. Also, no vinyl tires!
The chipping was done with hair-spray technique using multiple layers and copious amounts of hair-spray to get all those nice chips. However, the rust effects on the reference pictures are much nicer than what managed to achieved. It is good and bad - I wish I was better at replicating rust effects and good that I still have things to learn and try.
For the rust effect I used enamel wash call "rust effects" - thanks cpt. Obvious! I don't like the dust color - it is too light and creates too much contrast - seems out of place to my eye.
I got some damn dust particles inside the driver's cab - it seems to be a problem on all my builds 🙁
That's all I have. Thanks for reading and stopping by my albums. Hope you like it and if not, that's fine too 😉
