Top notch! A close up view of the engine would be nice.

Neuling, that was a nice surprise for me cos I thought the Tamiya offering was like the Revell one with no engine bay.

Here is the full build documented on a Youtube Video - includes some engine close-ups :).
If I get to it today, I might do some stills of the engine too for the album...

Does anybody have a rigging diagram for French battleship Danton? I am unable to find one and that one picture I have may not be enough.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I "finished" this some time ago, but I did not have time to take pictures, so here they are...

This is an awesome looking KV, and I particularly like the weathering and Winter white wash

For the mud... Vallejo does a range of acrylic based mud texture products that you can just brush on and wipe away again any excess. I found it perfect for dirtying up the recesses on track links and around suspension arms etc.

Going through my mates feed i noticed I somehow missed this build. Very well done! I have bednu on my to-do, always liked this plane. Cheers

Thanks, Alec! Yeah, MiG-23 has its charms, but proper planes have propeller(s) (pun intended). And ideally more than one wing (-;

Thanks Alec. Yeah, I have got about 20. I hope they will resume their operations soon - I saw some news article that New Zealand is doing quite well regarding COVID-19. But, we will see...

13. June 2020, 17:16

From what I can gather, WNW ownership has troubles that go beyond Covid19. In any case, I can't imagine those molds not producing in some form or another
14. June 2020, 10:35
David Andrs
Oh. I did not hear about that :(. Maybe, they will finally do a SPAD or Nieuport (they kind of resisted doing that, right?) Or just re-release older stuff (which they did with D.V I think), not sure if that's what would actually help them...
14. June 2020, 13:06
David Andrs
I added a link to youtube video with 360 view of the model in the album description, if anybody is interested :) Mostly it was a test of a rotating display stand
15. June 2020, 12:43
Alec K
I was looking t that. Very cool! Curious how you managed to eliminate the stand from the video (at least I can't see it...)?
15. June 2020, 13:20
David Andrs
I flooded it with light. But the edge of the turn table is still visible. Stop the video at 0:05 and look under the engine cowling. You should see a hard edge there. I think if the model can fit all above the stand and the light comes from the right direction, I might manage to get rid of it completely. Should work for smaller models - my rotating stand has 13 inches in diameter...
16. June 2020, 01:23
Alec K
I see it now. Wow, totally invisible unless you point it out. What's the turntable surface?
16. June 2020, 12:43
David Andrs
Just white plastic - quite matte. Behaves quite well, I think. I also want to try with a smaller model - not an airplane. I might be able to eliminate the edge completely.

21. February 2020, 08:05

Thanks, gents. The template I used is for 32nd scale, so it looks a bit overscaled in real life - at least to my eye. But, it doesn't show that much on the pictures...

Still I like the final outcome - a nice refreshing change :)

21. February 2020, 15:42

Really great David. I really like these "not fully completed" builds. I agree, the wood grain scale is hard to discern.

The wingspan is "only" 50 cm. B-17 in 1/48th scale has wingspan 65cm, for comparison :) But, yes, this is a BIG project, not only size-wise.

Ok, I gotta see this!
31. January 2020, 19:10
David Andrs
@JD: Almost. It is true there is a very high level of detail, but some is most likely missing. I am not an expert on Nieuports, but my personal guess is the engine will be missing some.

But, I build for fun, so no problem with that :)
