i love the vinyl tires; I soak them in alcohol if they are real shiny but most just need a soapy water wash. When dry they can be dry-brushed; I used Vallejo rubber mixed with some white to make a slightly grayed and weathered look. In reality it takes a lot to make tires this gray but I wanted the lettering to stand out a bit.

This kit has vinyl tires which I prefer; it allows easier weathering and rust effects to be applied first without marring the tire.

This was from an old Tristar kit for a field telescope/rangefinder.

Private Fritz is too tired to be as nervous as he should be.

These resin cast crates were almost a separate project in and of themselves.

I used the hairspray technique and the sponge dabbing technique to create the rust effects.

I want to portray in my dioramas the workaday rhythm of combat; the constant cleaning of weapons, resupply, moving, guard duty, sleeping, eating and etc. I want the Soldiers to appear as the regular men they are who are now doing something irregular.

I'm no expert but it looks like that warhead has already been fuzed.... Private Fritz requires further instruction apparently.

Thank you both, I need to blend and dust in the rubble piles; it doesn't look like rubble to me in the pictures, it looks like somebody dumped a load of debris in the middle of the road LOL!

Do not be too hard with yourself. I like this diorama. Might a very light coat of buff or gray paint with your airbrush help with the blending ?
