Helmut FraundorferA tribute to Audy Murphy, I like the sound of that! Are you building the scene where he worked the .50 Cal on a burning tank destroyer against a big number of German infantry at Holtzwihr? They say this was the act that earned him the MOH but there are so many other unbelievable stories about Audy Murphy... the highest decorated U.S. Soldier ever. I will definitely be watching this build!

@helmut sorry, yes thats the story of my diorama, I know a guy who's made with other the memorial at holtzwihr, I have a expo with him beginning of the next year, I have to finish this for this show

Bob HallAwesome ! He's from my State and when I retired from the Army, I retired from the 3 ID. There is Murphy stuff everywhere on Fort Stewart. You going to watch "To Hell and Back" before you complete it?

seb Hhello helmut, no painting yet, but the build is 90% done (need to adjust the leds to simulate fire😉 )

@Helmut, No That's on the opposite side of the State from me, but the 3 ID museum has an entire wing devoted to just him, and the 3 ID has the highest amount of CMH recipients of any division in the U.S. Army, The citations of their actions will blow your mind !

seb HHello all, wish all the best for the end of this year and the beginning of the new year. I Started painting the M10 with mig modulation paint, i only used base and dark olive drab, next step will be the highlighting
Love this mig set really awesome

Patrick HagelsteinOnly seeing this build just now and loving it! Isn't that the action the last part of 'Fury' is based on? I remember reading somewhere that people found that part of the movie exaggerated while it was nothing compared to what Audie did in real life.

Bob HallMovie is a bit robotic acting and inaccurate equipment, But in Audies defence, he had such bad PTSD that he never really wanted to relive that experience.

seb HAgreed The film May not have been accurate or whatever no matter, audies bravery during the war was awesome, and he wasnt the only one, but next week-end it will be a pleasure do be à part of the commémoration to remember all this guys and their acts, and ill be proud to show this dio 75year Day to Day where the action took place (26 Jan 1945)

Urban GardiniPerfect, I knew that it was Audie Murphy the instant I saw your last photo pop up in the feed even before I read the title. That do make it perfect and true to what happened when he fought of the Germans who couldn't see from where the fire came.
