Looks good, but pretty glossy. Maybe hit it with another layer of matte varnish?

i don't think so... actually this glossy shine makes the material look more realistic and gives it a certain "heavy steel"- feeling.

Yes, I see what you're saying. Having seen Tiger 131 up close at Bovington, it definitely has a sheen to it. Maybe needs a wee bit of toning down at this scale though.
