it would be a benefit for statistic reasons to add the possibility of changing a model from "completed" to "destroyed", "scrapped", or similar.

Wim van der Luijt a new status called "FUBAR" ?......I would use it!....you can make a feature request on the top right corner of the site in your profile menu

Is it about time to search for a new hobby, when i start to calculate the estimated time for building the kits in my stash and coming to the conclusion, that it will take longer than i live? ;)

niels wilhelm right there with you.
21. June at 20:37:08
Rex I am right there with you, Wim,,,,,,,,but, as a singer. I would like someone to tell me why a singer ends up with 7 Microphones, and enough gear to be the host of the local singer/songwriter night.
21. June at 20:49:12
Spanjaard the same that some people here could make a modelling shop :P
21. June at 20:55:47
Rex It is easy for us to say we are going to stop buying,,,,but, the model companies aren't helping us with that. (they want to sell us things)

I recently bought 5 kits of a new release,,,,I was going to kit-bash and use vac conversions to do them,,,,,and then the 1/72 Fury was released in 3 boxings for me to build them OOB when I get to that part of the collection. It will be sooooo much easier for me to build them almost OOB than to get Fury models from my stacks of parts and pieces.

It seems that just about the time we get enough old toolings of a model, or get a few built, that some company comes out with a kit for it that is better than what we were going to use before. Academy did that to me with their F-8 Crusader model, they did it so much better than all of the toolings in 1/72 scale, that I wound up buying enough to do all the Squadrons I will need for my collection in the end. (and if they are still for sale when I get to those, if I only "bought as I went along", they would cost twice as much, 4 boxings and 6 years from now)

So, the stash grows.........
21. June at 21:10:49
Maciej Bellos I posted a solution... which I know I can't follow :) I am with you all in this one, not enough time to build and buying kits once in a while.
21. June at 21:18:35
Markus Antonius is often buy kits just because i like the box-art... or i like the particular plane -knowing perfectly well that i will never build it :D
i even tried to sell all of my stash (which i did) ... and then go on with my hobby by saying: "buy one, build one - done, buy one - build one, done"... well.. looking at my stash, i could not manage it :D
21. June at 21:23:21
Spanjaard no, certainly no! :)
22. June at 00:19:41
bughunter Until you have build all kits of your stash you can't die! So buy more :)

PROCRASTINATION!

What do you do, when you are in the middle of a build and start to quit building because of loosing interrest in the subject?

i sometimes have the same problem, and you know what.. often these become my best work!!
10. May at 13:09:49
Peter Hardy I think it is a symptom of the realisation that the build is not aligning with that picture you have in your mind. I get it ALOT!
10. May at 13:32:23
Ed Froix true Peter. I also have it a lot after seeing pictures of the real subject or someone elses his build. I am almost never completely satisfied

21. April at 21:05:02
22. April at 09:34:38
