Body prior to primer. This AMT mold is a cleaning nightmare. Thick mold lines, panel inaccuracies, big gaps in the vents...

Nice work! What's the trick to getting such clean, sharp borders on your strips? I am always fighting paint bleeding under masking tape.
8. March, 22:20
Patrick Sedney
Thanks Dennis.
I use a glass panel from a picture frame as a cutting matt for the masking tape. Cutting on such a hard surface make the edge perfectly sharp. Then, I put the tape on the surface and rub the edge with the side of a toothpick as much as possible.
When painting, first apply thin coats instead of thicker ones. After a couple of light coats, it should be safe to load a little bit more

You are welcome :P . Its just these macro pictures that show everthing. I have arguments with my camera from time to time explaining that "it really does not look like this in real life".

If you want to test it you can light an incense stick and see how well the smoke goes into the box. Opening a window somewhere should help with the extraction as well I think, but might have dust coming into the box from other areas of your apartment, unsure.
29. December 2020, 12:02
Patrick Sedney
Yes. That's how I first tested when I built it and that's when it really surprised me. After burning a whole stick in front of it fot 10-15 minutes, you couldn't smell a thing

Of couse, dust is always an issue. However, a new matt made of kitchen paper everytime you spray improves dust-less results
