Ludvík KružíkThe history of this machine is really long and interesting. During its lifetime, this machine had at least 4 different markings - the original Russian, then Ukrainian, then Czechoslovak with cockades and finally, after an overhaul, Czechoslovak with flag emblems.
With flag emblems, this machine served in the Czechoslovak Air Force as a trainer until 1925, when it was finally retired.

For the build I used the Eduard Nieuport 17 ProfiPACK kit, which I got from my work colleagues for my birthday a year ago. Before building I bought decals from APC Decals - Czechoslovak Nieuports by Lubos Vinař.
For the construction I chose machine No. 3598, with which pilot Rudorfer flew from Ukraine to our territory on 27.5.1919. The appearance of the machine is from a later time, when Czechoslovakian insignia in the form of cockades were added to the aircraft. One interesting feature is that the regulation cockades were added to the rudder and lower surfaces of the lower wings, while the proportions and colours of the emblem on the upper wing were atypical. Probably the original Russian markings were restored, but only the blue and red colours were restored. The centre remained in the original silver colour of the wing cover. The much worn and faded silver paint of the machine and the drawing of the raptor on the fuselage sides were retained.
I based the construction on the few available period photographs, the description of the aircraft in the book Czechoslovak Nieuports by Zdeněk Čejka and the decal instructions.
