Done a bit more weathering. Needed something to help it look realistic. I've taken some images in more natural (brighter) light. The overall colour looks better now with some toning down of the desert yellow. Tracks were easy....just some pigment layers and sanding. Not to over think it.
Excellent result in every aspect. Sehr schöner Tiger!
Very Nice work 👍
Very realistic weathering for the Beast
thankyou for the comments......I have more to do on this Tiger....we'll see how it goes.

I know this a very common topic (Tiger 1) but I haven't done one....and this kit looks very nicely detailed. So as usual I will work through it methodically and paint/weather as I go. I'm in no rush and keen for this one to look really good.

had no idea this was such a complex kit..how many tiny parts can you put in a small dozer? .here we go...!!
thought the same but awesome Kit

Trying to breath some life into this little Jeep. While it is a simple kit, the detail that is available far exceeds the Tamiya offering. So happy to have this as a starting point. As you can see, the engine is no bigger than an aluminium can pull top....but I managed to put some fuel pipes, brackets, dizzy, plug leads and clamps to help depict the real thing.
Getting there. So far everything has fitted together well. Slow going here as the weather is warm and not conducive to painting.
ok....I'm sorta finished this one.....Every time I take photos I find lots of stuff I want to fix....stuff you can't see otherwise. Such a small model but a great addition to the collection without taking up too much space in the cabinet.
Good result! And a jeep is always a jeep.
Great result !
I rode once in one on the back seat. Pretty uncomfortable. Wish I could have driven it but the Colonel did not allow it.

So, I've never done a Spitfire. Although it's a common and popular subject, I guess every collection should have one. This is a simple but nicely detailed kit and I hope I can create a fine finish with authentic weathering (that's the challenge).
Up to my usual tricks......undercoat the whole thing with enamel X-11. Then Mr Hobby Premium dull Topcoat.
Done the underside Sky colouring. Experimental masking and attempted colour modulation. Hoping that after a filter wash and weathering, this will look the goods. (Although I will admit it is "artistic" rather than "realistic"😢
Great progress. May I suggest some further blending, so it's not so stark?
I really like the piping work you have done in the cockpit.
Thanks for the positive feedback........yes I think after a filter wash and weathering the contrast should blend ok....too many times I have been too heavy with the final colour and lost everything that I worked for.
Lol been there done that, I feel your pain! 🙂
Somewhat finished this little Spitfire. I don't want to over do the weathering so I'll leave it for the time being. Footnote to the finishing...I was rather pleased with the Tamiya decals. They go on easy and although I did my best to f#*k it all up, they all came up a treat with little or no silvering. Amazing stories..!!
P.S. Just my opinion...but I see allot of very "artistic" looking weathering on models these days. It's getting out of control with panel lines and colour variation to make the model "pop". Well....that's not what the real world looks like....so I'm starting to dislike these builds more and more. In the end it's everyone to their own. Thanks for looking.

stunning.T he tracks set it off.
ok so I took some preliminary photos in natural light to see what it looks like. I think it's ok for now. Still working on the front radiator protection plate. Not really finished with the weathering.....probably going to add some small amounts of dirt around the blade and track gear. I encourage any ideas for improvement. Thanks.
Scraper box to tow behind.
Love the weathering. Looks amazing! Really excellent work, David!
Thank you Tom.

Looking forward ........ (you show stunning metal effects!)
I take a seat! Interesting work!
Very well done... For me it's a perfect build... 👍
Awesome result, congratulations! How is the Meng kit to build?
Top notch. A masterpiece.
top notch indeed. amazing used look!
PliciPlici .... I enjoy the Meng kits....the fit is exceptional and there is great detail but not too complex. Only thing to avoid is the tracks (too much hard work) invest in some aftermarket metal tracks.
David, The King Tiger from them is awesome, I just finished it and love the tracks.
Fabulous detail and weathering. 👍
thanks all for the positive feedback. I really want to use each project as a learning curve and improve with each build. I'll be replacing the tree branches on this Jagdpanther when I figure out something better.
Somehow i've missed this, Excellent work, and realm photos. 👍

This project was inspired by photo's of post war units sitting in storage yards after being put to work on farms and other uses. From what I can tell, many of these have parts and panels mixed and matched from other similar vehicles, painted over and modified for civilian use. This is my vision. Painted with Model Master enamels, AK rust and Vallejo pigments. Hair spray and salt for patches and rust. Largely experimental to figure out the application process. Was a fun build, although I deleted many parts from the kit because lots of 'bolt on stuff' was ratted off these after military use.
Rubber tracks were too long, so I had to remove one link from each side to get them close to fitting. Otherwise, the general fit of the panels is ok. Unfortunate that all engine detail is hidden, it's pretty good.
That's a great build David. I really like the weathering. Just how I picture this vehicle in a Military Dump.
I started this kit in 2016 and did not finished yet. It is possible to keep the roof removable just as the ammunition container. Just don't glue them.
After a hiatus of a few year hoping to pick up the hobby very soon and finish some projects.
By the way. I took a peek on your other models and like the way you build these 🙂
Nice build. Love the grizzled look.
Nice weathering Job👍
Thanks for the feedback everyone.......this build has had some minor additions since these pics were taken. I just thought it could do with some cracked and broken glass in the front and rear lights.
