Scalemates Messerschmitt Bf 109 Group Build 2020

The stash, nothing added to a Profi Pack, just Montex masks and decals. I'll be painting all the markings but the shield.

The plane to be assembled and painted 🙂

Give the 72nd-er a 48th scale plane...

...and he will spend a weekend working the cockpit... comfort-zone 😄

Paints, washed and make-up used...

Last PE added, IP attached.

...aaand gluing to airframe... will be pity to close it. Still, a photo was made to make it eternal 🙂

Propeller ready for some chipping

Plenty of extra canopies in Eduard models makes protecting of cockpit easy. The correct canopy will be painted separately.

Not bad, I think this is the FIRST Me109 I've ever built.

Painted and lacquered

Signs painted on using Montex masks, 8 and shields are decals. Swastika aswel, painting would be too difficiult for my taste.

Body and wings waiting for drying...

Washing started on left wing. Chose the dark-green-gray wash to give that little green hue to a gray plane...

Front panel washed, rear in an hour or so. Going through a year's family pack of cotton buds like a boss 8-)

Finished! One day overdue 😄

Thank you Erik. I have a confession to make. I did not prime and apparently the model was a bit on the greasy side, so I could not tape straight lines on wings, had to freehand them. Oh well, will do better next time.

Wash done, next is matt, grime/grease/smoke, matt, then final assembly... a lot of work for one last day hehe...
Considering I managed to throw the damn plane on the ground today and rework on antennas and rear-wheel. Luckily Eduard keeps so much spares it's easy to scavange.
Oh yes, I also managed to grip the front end with a glove soaked in MLT. So additional gray and yellow painting and lacquering... 2020 end of year is loong overdue :/

Finished! Crude photos just to prove my deadline 🙂, will make better ones when day. I enjoyed the Gustav, for sure not my last 109-er.
