OOB build of the vintage '93 Monogram 1/48 kit.

I wasn't too concerned about the accuracy of this build. This was the 6th kit I've attempted since returning to the hobby December 2019 after 35 years+ away. Also I'm still acquiring paints and tools at this stage.

First ever crack at marbling technique and use of resin filler.

Learning how to shade and marble paint here. Especially how to grade it in depth.

I'm sure this is also completely inaccurate! But it helped me to learn 🙂

The aged decals were totally unusable with this kit. So I just purchased the cheapest aftermarket set I could find on EB - didn't really think about application at all.

The kit was missing some parts (see under wing holes!) I've left for now as intend to add from another kit when able.

Thanks all. That's very encouraging to have some nice feedback. Much appreciated. A lot of artistic license is in use here of course - the original decals were totally unusable and kit was missing some parts - and is still! But it's my 'version' of an iconic aircraft, thanks again 🙂

Album info

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by to view my latest build #6 the A-18 Strike Fighter.

I build straight 'out-of-the-box' endeavouring to show the build journey in as few photographs as possible - this is my reason for utilising montage imagery to help reduce the image count of an album.

This build was uploaded on the 26th March 2021.

I hope that the you find my build journey informative and helpful.
