Peter Hardy So Paul, were the alignment variations actually possible or probable?
14. May at 13:13:20
Paul Stubbs Variation very actual and requiring a fair amount of sanding and filling. Assembling the internal framework was pure guesswork really as the instructions are none existent and pictures pretty illegible. Not what I am used to but a challenge none the less. A nice subject though and one I want to do my best on, but after this is back to Tamiya I'm afraid. I like my modelling to be fairly easy and without major frustrations :).
14. May at 14:12:22
Peter Hardy I'm picking up what you're putting down! Very different and interesting subject though. If you get through it without "walling it" should be an eye catcher. I'll be following this because it is different and you are doing it!
14. May at 23:05:26
Gordon Sørensen Looks like a lot of work, but also looks like you managed the challenge! Great work, Paul!
30. July at 18:29:41
Paul Stubbs Thanks Gordon, still more to do though and the not decided on the painting yet. Toss up between spray in gloss or spray matt with a clear coat. Only part of the black transfers are supplied so areas of black spray will probably have to be semi-gloss to match the transfers. Or I spray the lot with clear after the transfers have been fitted. For such a small simple model it's taken a lot of time.
31. July at 09:41:00
Paul Stubbs Switch to white primer now and some final filling and sanding. On to colours next starting with the white wing struts, then the main body red, black trim, decals and then final clear coat. Wish me luck :).

13. August at 10:59:15
Peter Hardy Good luck!
13. August at 11:19:59
Paul Stubbs Still struggling with this one when I can find the time and work up the enthusiasm for what is a very frustrating project. Have sprayed it matt red and now spraying the semi-gloss black areas where they can't be arsed to give you decals. After that I'll clear coat the lot. It's a really poor kit and is exposing my limited skills as more of an assembler and painter rather than a modeller. I just don't have the time and patience for this type of model. Took me around 30 mins to apply 2 decals the other day trying to piece them back together as they just fell apart. Top tip I have deduced is to scan the decals first, then you can always (hopefully) reprint them onto new waterslide laser jet paper, if the originals are shot. I'll continue to do my best but it's not been an enjoyable build and not my proudest moment of modelling.

13. November at 13:38:24
Paul Stubbs Mmm. More disintegrating decals tonight. I can touch up the large ones but the white pin stripes are just falling apart. Don't know what the complex side ones are going to be like so I need another plan. I'll be trying the scan I did to see what comes of that.

Paul Stubbs Made for my fathers 75th birthday along with a visit to the Concorde experience at Manchester Airport visitors centre. He lost the wheels so I'll try and find some replacements.
28. August at 11:26:15
Mike Daniels I think he will be very pleased with that. Great job.

28. August at 13:21:26
Paul Stubbs He's actually 81 now and I made this before I discovered Squadron Products Putty so would do a better job on the join lines if I made it again. Not a bad kit for Airfix though .

Paul Stubbs This is no Tamiya kit! Plenty of work required to get it to fit together and the instructions leave a bit to be desired. "Due to possible alignment variances" or poor moudlings to be more precise.
05. March at 10:23:45
Paul Stubbs Ongoing with plenty of filler, primer and sanding.
14. May at 12:37:55
Paul Stubbs Fill, sand, spray - (repeat).
30. July at 14:29:04
Paul Stubbs Switch to white primer, final filling and then top coats.
13. August at 11:00:55
Paul Stubbs Bit more work required to make the canopy fit right!! Cowling drilled for exhaust outlets. Masked canopy, sprayed but a little more filling required before final top coats. Tidied up cockpit and fitted pedals which were missed earlier on. Going to add some "cushions" to the seats to make it look a bit more realistic. Worked out where decals go (as there are no instructions), where needs to be sprayed and in what order. Still plenty to do but the finish line is nearly in sight.

Paul Stubbs
Having watched some of Le Mans over the weekend I fancy doing a modern LMP1 car like an Audi E-tron or Toyota/Porsche hybrid. Anyone any suggestions of decent kits, preferably with some decent engine detail rather than just the shell.

Paul Stubbs . First and only attempt so far. My next one (I'm building up to) is "Apocalypse Now" for which I have a Tamiya PBR ready for. Seems the "water skiing" scene is popular but I want to do something different. Maybe the "heli drop" or the "crashed B52". Not decided yet. Need to research much more into how to do water etc. :).

Martin Oostrom It's getting repetitive; well done!
One suggestion, Ammo and Uschi have some very thin rigging line. Would make your builds just a little bit better.

Looks very nice
11. June at 12:52:49
Paul Stubbs Pretty much same as all ships really. Long projects, time consuming and lost of repetition but some thought needs in how and when to paint. Always very satisfying to do though I think. Tamiya kits so parts are 100% as usual :).
