I can use a wingman on this one! The moulding is very crisp and consistent. The only things that distract are the mould release lines on the spine and the intakes and the ill fitting plug on it's back.

Have this kit as well. Watching with intent.

yes, i the intakes do not seem really seamless on this one😉 are you going to use them or aftermarket there?

Luckily in the picture I use as a reference the intakes are covered with red FOD covers. That's why I'm going to close mine with the Quickboost ones. What I mean is the faint lines on both the top and bottom on the outsides. Nothing difficult but just anoying to sand and rescribe.

Simple and easy solution 🙂

the detail of that cockpit seem really good, how is the fit? i hope it is a lot better than the Airies ones i used in my phantom... i have the second one ready to be installed in the Academy F4-J, but i think it will requiere even more work than in the first one.....

Love to see Phantom builds, and yours looks great so far! And I absolutely love your scheme choice. The next F-4J I build will also be in that scheme. Look forward to seeing your progress!

Most interesting rebox of Phantom by Eduard in my opinion 🙂

Spanjaard, because of the dark hard resin Brassin uses the major parts line up as advertised. Dry fitting these major parts in the fuselage shell revealed no issues.

now i am starting to feel tempted to get the eduard set for my Academy kit.... but that would mean leaving the already finish Aires cockpit aside....

That would be a waste of all your hard work. I'm curiuous though, does the Aires pit have a vertical or a canted rear bulkhead? The Brassin pit has a correct vertical rear bulkhead with a canted seat rail.

When I'm back at work I'll take some more pictures to clarify.

yes, i have worked hard on it... but i will have to work a lot harder to fit it inside of the Academy F-4... I think that if i get the Eduard cockpit, I could get as good or better result (it was the worst of the two) and fit it nicely in the cockpit actually. better result and less frustration seems a good deal, and who knows, maybe i can still do something with that Aires cockpit.

At the end i got the Eduard one, and i am mostly likely going to use it... i will keep the aires for the future. did you use the aires main wheel bays already? i am not sure if i want to use them with my academy kit. it was a pain to use them in the Hasegawa. a lot of surgery needed for them.

Sad to say I haven't had the time yet... Details like my working life and such keep getting in the way...

I'll join the party - there's nothing like a decent Phantom build. Looks good!
