@Spanjaard: you can't make an everyday subject out of something that takes months to build. 😉

I see we are flying the same flag in our profile pictures. Would like to see more of them updated.

@Alain Brshl: I am old enough to have been around when they were all over the place and impossible to escape from - and I am still traumatized from the experience.

Album info

I had just made it to the middle third of the "Most completed kits" hit parade - and then something possessed me to start this...

This kit really keeps you busy. The amounts of some items (seats, windows) reach industrial proportions. Strategic planning regarding the deployment of the airbrush is called for if you do not want to load it up with the same colour (usually one of three shades of red) again and again.

None of this, however, is in any way difficult. I was so busy slaving away at the "assembly line" that it occurred to me only at the end of the build what an insanely well-fitting kit this is - the only exception being the decals: those supposed to fit inside something (and most are) are always oversized and require elaborate cutting operations.

And, of course, me being me, I had to weather it...

Strangely, I seem to have mostly overcome my problems with applying glue in the right place. No idea what all those windows would have looked like if I was still my adhesively challenged former self.

I had no convincing idea what to use as an advertisement on the left hand side until current developments provided inspiration.

Oh well, for better or worse, after a couple of months (and a few side projects for stress relief) the thing is finally finished.

I bought two more copies for "What-If" conversions (Routemaster Very Long, Routemaster (Very) Short, Bendymaster, Triple-Decker, ...).
