Well it is the cheapest kit available for the 1:72 size. Ideal to start on Su 15 Flagon models. The shape looks a bit more like Su-15TM to be honest, the dimensions are here and there a bit off shape. The main hull sticked fantastically i have to say, but the wings had overlapping and a lot of putty is needed to get it somehow even. I am late with updated pictures as i had primered the whole bird in Alclad II black Primer, which was noooot good at all! The Thing come out very waterish and i guess it almost ruined the model. Tried to safe it a bit and went after heavy sanding into Alclad II polished Aluiminium , funny offcolor silhouettes now! I am still to dry my tears as i was furious, but I will update Pictures but have mercy with my building skills ... I am not an expert. As to decals, well you have the six stars and that's about it! As i have another Amodel kit in 1:72, i will use in any way the decals for the air intake in yellow/black stripes. The Panels will get various Colors from Duraluminium over to Magnesium and steel, a bit of a "Patchwork" Panel line to have soem effect on the bird. Don't mind orginiality!! 🙂

Tx for the comment. Did you apply the Alclad primer directly to the kit or did you apply it on another type of primer?

Well, as it is a "primer" i applied it directly on the kit. The Grey and White primer from Alcald II work so perfect that it was a pleasure to do my MIG 29 e.g. But maybe you know more than me , does one need a primer before adding the black primer? Sounds stupid but if that little detail spoiled my work i am happy to know the solution for next time. Fact is that the Grey and White primer cover fantastic and just little shots from the airgun and you have nicely covered and are ready , whereas the black was dripping of like water ..i was really shocked! I was told that on Alclad II i could have just taken a glossy Humbrol Black Enamel No. 21 , well that Thing would have covered at least 🙂

I once build a Monogram 1/72 B-52 and applied a white base coat first, think it was a Revell spray can. When dry, waited 48hrs, I than applied the black Allclad primer and indeed it is very thin but you must spray it in several very thin coats with a small drying time in between. Once applied let it also dry fo 48hrs before addind the other colours and be carefull with masking tape, take a not very hard sticking tape or use Post-it paper.

Erwin, you are absolutely right, should have used a black thin layer of Enamel first before the base coat, but i am now one model and plenty of hours wiser than before 🙂 One tipp the airframe Aluminium works very good on the balc primer whereas the polished Aluminium and Dark Aluminium Need really good and clean work. Well, next time i do it better but it was worth the experience i have to say. Final concusion: To build a SU-15 this PM Model is absolutely worth it, it finally has a good resemblance and you get a lot for relatively cheap Money. I have the SU 21G (two seater Version) also from PM , tha one will come out better (i hope!)

Hi James. Thanks a lot. I have a Trumpeter Flagon-A in 1:48,too but i wanted to be firm with Alclad first as it would look fantastic if you use different color tones on the panels. Do give me a shout once you will start, I will be interested to follow.
