First steps

Album image #4
Seats , floor and side-walls, and dashboard painted.

Album image #5
Dials were cut with a Waldron Punch & Die set from a 1/32 decal, which I guess came from a Porsche 911

Album image #6
Radio and dial decals in place.

Album image #7
Front piece glued in two steps. That way I could force left side to its proper form.

Album image #8
Primed with a rattle can that I had bought long long time ago .... To my surprise the color is black ... arrrggggg ... that's why the cap is black
😉 ... I should have read the label.

Album image #9
Apart from being black , the paint was not in good condition .... I should have tested it on a scrap piece of plastic ... more ARRGGGGG .... The primer left some spatters in a difficult place to remove.

Album image #10
This is my trick for those difficult to reach places. Wet & dry paper wrapped around a balsa wood stick carved to a thin form.

Album image #11
I'm beggining to think that this is not my lucky week ... As you can see in the left ,,,,. The Matchbox Starfighter fell to the table and one wing tore apart.

Album image #12
Much better in grey

Album image #13
More trouble. I sprayed a coat of Tamiya blue from a rattle can that also was not in good condition.

Album image #14
The spray can is not so old ,,, but it seems that's not good. Lesson learnt ,,, I'll never use cans directly to the model.
🙁
It's a pitty becaus i like the hue of that blue.

Album image #15
This laquer paint is not as easy to strip as the acrylic paints. The model was submerged in 96º Alcohol for a day. Paint and grey primer went away easily , but not the black primer. Not really a big problem.

Album image #16
A new coat of paint ... this time Tamiya TS 53

Album image #17
Second coat. Texture on the model is a bit rough ,,, but I have two precious tubes that can mend it ....

Album image #18
Well .. .those precious tubes of compound .... cut thru the paint ..... so more paint stripping ... This time with Tamiya Paint Remover .... This is the best paint stripper I've used ... a bit expensive , but really does the job. More anon ........

Album image #19
At long last I've got it right. Now it's pretty clear to me that old rattle cans can't be trusted ..... I bought a brand new TS50 Tamiya Rattle can.

I like Arii as well. Make wonderful destroyed civilian vehicles on my dioramas. Fun builds and great for detailing. Have fun. Cheers

I got 3 1/32 arii kits
And thay also had 4 different aroshima 1/32 kits so I grabbed them to
The aroshima kits are not in scalemates database
I have a few kits to ad to the database
The aroshima kits look to be much the same quality as tha arii kits
Small parts count looks like thay will be fun to build
And fantastic value
