Modulation is very nice, but base color is very light IMHO
17 February 2015, 21:44
Gábor Bélik
Thanks Stefan.
@Ruslan: I used AK's 4BO Green set. It will be much darker after the washes and filters plus the lighting is too bright 🙂

Done a bit of rusting
23 February 2015, 10:45
Patrik Spett
Great job! Hov did you do the rust behind the hatches?
25 February 2015, 14:25
Gábor Bélik
Thanks Patrik. It was a mix of chipping fluid, sponge and oils. First I pre-chipped the surface after that I used a sponge to add more fine chipping after it was all dry I added small dots of rust colores and mafe them run through the surface whit a drop of thinner.

Hi Gábor, looks well weathered, because the wintercamo was applied with lime mixed with water. Cheers Stefan

Some weathering can be 'overdone' but from what you have shown here, the balance is 'in scale' to me.

I do like the dents on the mufflers and 'deformities' you have achieved on the leading edges of the steel.

"White wash" is exactly that. It is sloshed on and roughly spread with what ever was at hand, and was commonly 'washed away/thinned out' if there was a lot of snow or rain. Not an exact science at all.

This link has thousands of images from all through the war in Europe, of all participants, German, Russian and allies, so there is bound to be something in there that will help you fit the bill.

One more comment.

I am pleased to see that you have given a great deal of attention to the tracks and produced that "Bright steel" effect from all the surfaces that were exposed to contact with the earth and the 'vulcanised' rubber on the road wheels, and these road wheels took a beating too, with great chunks of the bonded rubber getting gouged out from where the rubble and debris got between the track and wheels.

just a thought. ! :-/
5 April 2015, 19:19
Gábor Bélik
Thanks Kerry and thanks for the link.

The road wheels are missing those chunks it just can't be really see because the pigment kind of filled it up. Next time I will be more drastic. 🙂

Will all this excellent work end up on a "Plinth" or in a Diorama. ? 🙂
26 April 2015, 19:43
Gábor Bélik
It's most likely that these all end up on EBay. 🙂
