My condolences! 😭
Is there still hope to repair it?

Gary
Yes. Thanks. Gary

Then take it as a unique occasion to revise the cockpit section!😛

Gary
What revisions do you mean? Gary

Nothing special. I just pointed out the fact that the canopy broke off and that offers access to the interior.

Hi Ulf, Ther is more detail inside the canopy that's not seen in thes pics, such as hand holds, compass, and cards

How did that happen, looks like a lawn mower ripped through it!. Man! beautiful display case.

So sad. I hope, it can be repaired. I really love your display case.

Thanks! It's repairable. We had to move the display case in order to redo the flooring. I had the cobra on a shelf in my hobby room and there was a shift in some stuff behind the cobra which knocked it off. When my wife told that a helicopter had crashed in my room, I was really worried it was the CH-53E which would have been a lot harder to repair. Gary

You know the Army changed my MOS at discharge to the copter that looked like a banana, can't remember the model number, never even worked on one before let alone seeing one, used in war before "Nam" I believe. Be nice if they came out with one in 1/48, maybe they already have.

The flying banana was the H-21, I think. It saw service in Nam in the early days of transporting ARVN troops down in the Delta. A lot got shot down. Gary

That's weird I was station next to an ARVN boot camp going up Highway 1 to camp eagle. I believe your right on the copter # and them being in Nam. Wanted to tell you too, my company took it's direct orders from the 7th Air Force in Thailand. The Army sent a detachment from our company to Thailand for the invasion of Cambodia (sp). 1970 I believe, that's when I got to take control of my aircraft, to actually fly the Damn thing.

Wow! Pretty cool. I went on a lot of test flights and 2 combat missions in the cobra. Since I had some flight training before joining the armie in Cessna 150's and the pilot would let my fly. Best job I ever had. Gary

I was shocked when the pilot told me that, about crapped my pants, Great feeling though huh?

It's hard to believe we were that young and got to do all that. Imagine dumbass like me, flying in the front seat of a Cobra or sitting as a door gunner on a Huey in a war zone. Seems like a lifetime ago. Wait it was. Gary

Someone was wanting to know about a certain Cobra. Sprue Brothers have a AH-1Z, don't know if that will help or not

Two bad for the chopper. I hope it gets repaired. On a funny note, the gunner survived the fall! 🙂

I suppose the chopper did not have a chance to autorotate before it hit the ground

So, the "Gunslinger" is back on the flight line, and what a wonderful job by the ground crew to get her feeling right again !!!! 🙂
