This was originally going to be a group build because I didn't think I'd have enough time to finish it this year, but I've been making progress, so now it's a project.

Apparently nobody makes a OV-10B decal set in 1/48 scale.

The kit landing gear looks overly complicated and under strength. I ordered a brass aftermarket set, but it still relies on much of the kit gear, so I won't be using it. I now have a third option on order - a white metal set that appears to include all needed parts.

Final solution (Plan D) for the main landing gear was to design and print a new set. The new struts are one-piece, so the geometry is baked in and foolproof.

That's kind! I don't have one of these but someone who does is really going to appreciate it.

Thanks, Ben. I'm hoping that if more people start making OV-10BZs that decal makers will make a decal sheet for it. It would also be nice to have a clear resin cargo door, since not many people will go through the trouble of vacuforming one.

I would have liked to build a BW-Bronco too but had to learn that the Bundeswehr flew only the B-version with a rear glas door at the fuselage as you build it. And in scale 1:72 no kit covers that either. So I will follow your build along.

Michael, can you start with the Revell OV-10B in 1/72? I know that model is hard to find. I see one on eBay now and then.

Oh, thats a hot tip. I somehow thought that the Revell Bronco is only the Academy rebox. Was not aware of the 10B-Kit.
So I need a second Bronco now. The first one will be a Califonia Fire Fighter.
Thanx again

The decals from Peddinghaus have arrived. Making them work well is going to be difficult. I'm going to practice using "Future" to set the decals. I've seen that technique demonstrated before.

I see that Quickboost has made OV-10A/C propellers in 72, 48 and 32 scale. The blades are separate parts. I'm hoping, although I don't know for sure, if the blades can be installed at any blade angle. If so, then this solves the problem of all kit makers (except KittyHawk) making the propellers with the wrong blade angle.

The Quickboost propellers arrived. They look great, however there is a problem. The blades are keyed to fit into the hub at only one angle - the wrong angle. I think I can fix this by modifying the key, however I'll need to take care to not make the blades too wobbly.
