Geleitboot Klasse 319 F209 Brummer

Scale:
1:400
Status:
In progress
Started:
April 10, 2017

During this built I will use the old Heller Kit of M 24 to convert into a Geleitboot Klasse 319.
One of the first units of the new Bundesmarine back in 1956.

They were bought back from the french, who recived them after the war als war-price.
One of the 10.5cm guns has been replaced with a Hedgehog, the AA has also been changed and the minesweeping equipment was removed.

looks interesting, seems like a nice camouflage...

Thanks Bart.
I've already built one as Minensuchboot Typ 1935 in a similar camouflage.
But as this one is a Bundesmarine -ship, based on the Minensuchboot, it will be simply two-tone-grey.😉
The main difference will be the armament.

They will be coming, when I´ve got something to show.
At this moment, there´s only filling and sanding.😉

looks good. Do you paint the camouflage before applying the layers of the hull?

Na da will ich doch mal an Bord kommen! Ich mag die alten Pötte. Schade das es keinen M 40 gibt, da wäre ich echt scharf drauf!

@Bart:
I'm Not quite sure if I get your question right...
The boat with the camouflage is an old model of mine.
The one I'm actually working on will be quite different.
On the old one, the model has been asambled and then I've painted the whole sheme by hand.

By the way:
There's already an album with some building pictures.

Have seen it, that's what I wanted to know, the order of fitting and painting. Still puzzling what is best with ships

A very good start was made👍 I don't want to miss any further progress, so count me in Mathias🙂

@Bart, for painting ships IMOH, the best is to work in sub assemblies. You can build and paint them seperately, and fix them togehter when everything is finished. I used this method on most of the ships and it went out nice. You have to take care using plastique liquide, best is to use PVA glue and a touch of superglue not to ruin any paintwork.

I´ve added some new pictures and comments to the building log.
Hope you like it. 🙂
