Closed and ready to move on…
Wings joined with fuselage - this one will have a closed canopy, for a change
Big gaps in the wing roots
Air filter installed - very difficult, used a combination of PVA Ultra Glue from Ammo (first) and CA glue (second)
Preparing the landing gear with 0,2mm copper wire and 1mm Tamiya tape
Perfect Plastic Putty...
...a swipe with a wet (water) cotton bud and it's ready to go! 🙂
Radiator covers ready, with the tiny PE
Glueing the radiator covers: lousy fit here
AK white primer applied
Flat white using Gunze H-11 on the wintips and rear fuselage band
RLM78 applied with AK Real Color RC281
RLM79 applied with AK Real Color RC283
MRP RML 04 applied over white AK primer diluted with Mr Leveling Thinner
Some post shading with diluted Tamiya XF-18
Some post shading with diluted Gunze H37
Painting RLM02 bits with the lovely MRP-50
Touch ups and corrections made, X-22 varnish applied
Some light sanding
Masking
MRP red applied over white primer
Ready for decals
Applying first decals
Decals applied, light chipping on the wings root done, varnished and all ready for the pin wash
Ammo pin washes applied (A.MIG 1610 below, A.MIG 1616 on the RLM04, A.MIG 1612 on the RLM79 and A.MIG 1607 on the white); varnished with Hataka Satin Varnish XP08
Some effects with black oil around the engine
Time for final touch ups
Finished!!!

Thank you @James, I'm also a huge fan of Bf 109s, mostly because of the almost infinite painting schemes you can find; I already built several and will build more - I think I'll want to build either a Condor Legion bird or a late war one, with unpainted wings underneath 🙂
