Thank you mates. This paper diorama comes from ABC magazine, which was published in the former Czechoslovakia in the 1960s to the present day. Now in the Czech Republic 🙂

Lukasz, that magazine is LEGEND! One of their editors was an avid modeler and wrote many how-to and historical articles that were published there. It can be said that the magazine played a pivotal part in turning many Czechoslovak kids growing up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s into modelers. Paper modeling was also a major part of ABCs content, and the diorama above is a nice blend of the two.

I imagine there was something similar in Poland, no?

Sadly not, I assume this is one of these CS made paper backdrops, like the MiG-19 one I saw here too (and fell in love immediately).

I mean there were (and are) many paper model producers in here, some of them being legendary for decades already, but sadly none of them made such cool backdrops 🙁

Interesting. Yeah, the backdrops (I think there is one more, if memory serves) were specifically designed to go with the KP kits when they were released in the 70s. The hangar one is definitely the coolest.

I completely agree. I have always loved the legendary ABC magazine and I still enjoy reading in old issues. I still have a diorama for the Lavochkin plane. I will definitely build it as well 🙂

One thing came to my mind today: are you willing to scan that hangar edition, so I could print my own in here? Having the dimensions I guess that might work 🙂
