Thank you for the kind remarks! The kit was pretty straight forward. It doesn't have guide pins to align the fuselage so it takes a bit of work to line up everything. There is a sizeable gap between the wing and fuselage that I used Milliput to fill. There are clear windows but no recesses to hold them when installing them so I used Kristal Klear once the two halves were joined to make a window. The base is a block of wood I got from Home Depot that I think is used for moulding. I used AK polished aluminum for the base coat and then went with matt aluminum applied in a vertical pattern to resemble the reference photo. I mixed my own orange from red and orange to get the color for the wing tips. It takes a little work to get this model completed but overall it was fun.

Album info

I decided to make the Valom RF-101C from Operation Sun Run. My friend is a huge Voodoo fan and so it seemed the a good time to try it out. The kit has a bit of resin for the intakes and exhausts. The gear doors are photo etch but since I decided to put the gear up I didn't use much else of the PE. The pilot figure is a PJ Production 60's NATO pilot figure. I am not sure which is scaled properly but the pilot figure was tiny compared to the cockpit. He has to sit on a booster seat of Funtak to even see over the glareshield. Painting was pretty straight forward with the gray walkways and red stripe on the aft portion of the jet painted on as no decals existed in the kit. There is a line molded on the wing that is where the wing fence would go so I made a fence out of styrene. The windows are very difficult to work with so I used Kristal Klear to make them after I completed painting the model.
