Mikr Mir kit is pretty low quality, very gooey molding. Pick up the Hobby boss Alfa instead if you can. I've got that one on order so I can compare them.

Sumarine kis are fun I think. My favourite is still the Akula clas sub, sort of looks like a giant torpedo.

Yes. The Akula does have the best proportions and the pod's cool, but it's huge. I had no idea it was bigger than a Los Angeles class until I opened the box

They vary a lot in size. I just added a photo of a WWII Type VII compared to a Soviet Alfa compared to a Soviet Akula. The Akula and the Alfa often get mis-identified as each other in photos because they look similar but they are far from similar in size.
