I wonder, the upper row of "windows" on the big hull piece, are these windows to room or to an open deck, or are they perhaps not glass windows?

I´m in !!! Tall ships are a topic too seldom seen here.

I think that all windows are made from glass. But on photos you can see that all small windows looks like black f.e. [img1].
It's too much for me to make all windows transparent))

Hm, perhaps an idea could be to stamp out circles from a thin transparent sheet for the windows. With any luck, it might be cleaned up easily and fit nicely with minimum effort. I would in that case, add masking tape before doing the stamping, then keep the mask on, then with extreme care try glue on the bits of round transparent plastic somehow. No idea how large the holes are on the model, but if 3mm large in diameter, maybe doable I think. Sry, I just can't help myself looking at kits, finding any excuse to just tamper with the molding or do something interesting, getting into trouble in the process sometimes. Also, maybe an idea to just not use glue, but just punch out the round plastic then firmly squeeze the round plastic into a NON-drilled-out hole, that way, you could just avoid a lot of trouble, as long as the piece of plastic looks ok, though maybe some special tool could be made to make a clean (nice flat) circular base for the NON drilled out hole in the plastic on the hull piece. Presumably some cheap drill bits, a cylindrical one, could be sharpened with a metal file, to have sharp edges, making a nice clean sanding job into the cavity. Often though, if fiddling too much with holes, one accidentally expands the hole, either getting too large, or becomes deformed (not a perfect circle anymore). Or, maybe a drop of gloss coat is all it takes to make the black cavity look like it has a glass window.

Hmm, thank you for idea with gloss coat. I have additional photoetched frames for these windows. I want to try to paint it black glue it and put a glossy drop into the frame. May be it will look better.
This is my first and only ship model and its parts are dramatically smaller then parts of tanks or trucks)
