Nose wheel strut drilled out, strut then shortened by 2mm.

Epoxy plug as cockpit front, doubles as blanking plate behind splitter. Cut off front of cockpit "tub" to allow for dropping in of splitter once interior of intake trunk is smoothed. Test fits going well so far!

Got my new Hasegawa Tri-Tool scribing templates!

Album image #12
They work quite nicely....

Album image #13
Wings scribed, fuselage next....

Album image #14
Scribing done, airframe built and primed.

Album image #15
Worst fitting part of kit, better test fitting would have saved some time here. Still, a great fit for an old kit. Got some minor scribing to fix, wing tanks are tough to scribe straight!

Album image #16
Brush formula (BlueLine ) Hataka paint, lovely stuff!-Two coats of Silk Grey on, belly - bubbles in green circle are caused by not wetting the brush first..easily remedied. Levels nicely, I will be getting more of their products!.

Re-shot undersides with Vallejo Model Air USAF light grey 71.296

Album image #18
Vallejo Model Air IDF blue 71.113

Album image #19
color recommendations for 50s IDF colors all over the place, went with Yoav Efrati's suggested colors, using Vallejo Model Air Golden brown 71.032 and IDF blue 71.113 - now you can see the sizable gap around the windscreen to fill -

Album image #20
Tamiya FB thinned for black - Yellow is Vallejo med. yellow with a drop of orange

Album image #21
not too shabby, they kinda look hand painted as most marking were applied hastily

Album image #22
Fuselage stripes are gonna be tough to keep straight - next thing on the list.

Album image #23
Striping done, gear on

Marking it as A/C 92 from 113 Squadron, Hornets. (Squadron currently flies AH-64D Sarafs)

Album image #26
still have to paint antenna on front of fin. The closed "2" was not common

Album image #27
Print Scale decals are nice and thin, behave well so far - the sharkmouth is correct with red on the bottom, as the Heller kit decals have the black and red reversed. May need some help with the curvature of the intake - letting them settle overnight.

Print Scale decals still silvered a wee bit - maybe base was not glossy enough? Small aerial on left of nose is made from fur off of my German Shepherd - once segmented, the thick kt canopy will fit right over the rear decking. Pitot tube is steel music wire.

Thanks - dremel too is a real help!(Keep those RPMS down, though!) Read several builds where gear legs seem to be real weak on this kit.

That's quite the to do list in you project description. I like it when old kits are brought up to current standards. Following!

Thanks - I bought another, and have the L'arsenal detail set that should make it a bit easier - next may be natural metal finish -
